James Shaw, Jr. was going for a joyride on the Angeles Crest Highway when he said he got a "second chance at life." The Subaru Forester enthusiast was driving on the mountain highway when he admits he let his fun go a little too far. Miraculously, he ends up landing on a drainpipe sticking out of the slope.

Clear case of how the internet turns people into Darwin Award nominees. Looks like he may have been using a GoPro ... and was making a video to show how cool he was racing thru the tunnel. Problem that he had was that it was cold (note the snow on the ground) and when he came out of the tunnel he probably hit some ice. D*mn lucky he lived thru it.
That Hockey Puck thought he was driving a Subaru Impreza WRX STi. Hope he was wearing his brown pants.
Always scope out your track before racing - it’s called a test run to observe conditions.

Something isn’t right about that video.
The vehicle from which the video was made isn’t the vehicle that is being hauled up at the end.
One has a hood scoop, the other doesn’t.
As the first vehicle is going off the road, you can see the other one already down the slope.
I hope his insurance company was cc’d on this video.
Looks like he gets a second chance to kill innocent people through his arrogance and stupidity.
