Trump is saying to build things in America.
I COMPLETELY AGREE.
100%.
Go Trump.

I agree, also.
And you know damn well they can do it....IF the damn tax structure is changed.
When you put people to work...the government coffers will be filled by them....and the corporate tax becomes a double tax.
To: Cringing Negativism Network
Absolutely.
I’ve always wanted to spend $1000.00 plus for an I-Phone. And if Trump gets his way.....

I’m not sure I can trust a guy who puts Americans first. /s

Sounds great in theory, but given the gigantic supplier chain located a smaller factories near the factories for Foxconn and Pegatron in China (these two companies do final assembly for most Apple products), to do the final assembly of even one major Apple product in the USA would require an enormously expensive investment in all the supplier companies for USA subsidiary operations.

Then change the law so it’s viable to build iPhones et al in the USA. As is now, regulations would drive the price _way_ up to can’t-compete levels.

It isn't just the tax structure, but that's a big part of it. Look at the profits Apple amasses. They're paying slave labor to manufacture their products and not passing their savings on to consumers. So, we still pay high prices, but we also have to pay taxes for benefits to US citizens who can't get decent manufacturing jobs.
Thinking of it that way, the US consumer is paying the wages that Apple isn't.

The government can give companies incentives to build in the USA, but forcing them to do so would be crazier than almost anything Bernie Sanders has in mind.

They can’t use the slave labor if they did. Foxconn has a terrible record of labor abuse and Apple doesn’t care.

Yeah, if the taxes are driving out businesses its the businesses which are evil to leave!
Those businesses leaving new york are evil they should stay there and not go to low tax states like Tennesse!!

Its all a function of the idiotic tax structure. Every line in the code is written to benefit someone special.

Then why should DT build construction projects in other countries?

Yeah, but paying workers 17cents per hour is ‘Fair Trade’.

"We're going to get Apple to build their damn computers and things in this country instead of in other countries." Per usual, he only says he will do it while offering zero specifics as to how.
I also hope this means he will start manufacturing his own clothing line in the U.S.

That may be. But he can’t make them do it, we don’t have the infrastructure or the resources that China provides them, so they won’t.

We will get them to do it is NOT force them to do it.

But then China and others could not steal our technology that we don’t give them for free.
I liked it better when we did not share our stuff.
