Is Donald switching teams again? A while back he said he had been on the establishment team, but had flipped against them. Yesterday, he attacked Ted Cruz for daring to truthfully point out Mitch McConnell had lied to conservatives.
That does not sound very anti-establishment to me. Defending Mitch McConnell is a defense of the establishment. It is also bad form.
Cruz was right. McConnell was lying and had been lying to conservatives. Him pointing it out on the Senate floor was necessary to expose McConnell. Trump is wrong to attack him for that.
This is just more evidence that Trump and the establishment are cozying up to stop Cruz.
DT, Mr. Outsider. Mr. Anti-Establishment.
Yeah, right.
Posted many times, but it’s bizarreness is still there.
What has happened?
Oh, you ain't seen nothin yet, the deal maker will reach across the isle to the republicans. He won't need to with the democrats.
And do you know why Trump is saying this? Because you have to WORK with people, you don’t go in and start telling people what they are going to do and not going to do, like Cruz did when he went into the Senate....
That’s why Cruz is NOT liked, telling these people who have had more experience in government and life he was the ‘new man in town’...how disgusting was that!!!
NO Ted Cruz isn’t going to be POTUS for a whole lot of reasons, and the main one is because he is a 3 year JUNIOR Senator and we already know what happened to this country by doing that!!!
The Don is pissing off conservatives.
What did Trump say?
This is annoying me. I realize Trump fights dirty when he has to. I don’t mind it when the target is someone I don’t like, like Obama or some GOPe lacky. I don’t like it when he uses the same tactics on someone I do like.
Cruz was right about McConnell, who is an execrable human being. If Trump is defending McConnell, that doesn’t speak well for him. The thing I like about Trump is the fact that GOPe doesn’t like him. If he starts defending them, it undercuts the very reason anyone would want to support him.
I will save th Truml supporters the effort:
Trump only said what he said because he “loves America” and wants to “make America great again”.
Proof that Donald plans to work with McConnell if he wins and not Cruz. He signaled that when he called Cruz nasty and said no one liked him, something McConnell probably whispered in his ear.
McConnell is a liar, a backstabber, and a pusillanimous poltroon.
Trump is doing himself no favors by cuddling up to the turtle-faced bastard.
The sleazy New Yorker will be in McConnell’s pocket, because McConnell knows where all the bodies in DC are buried and Trump is a novice in the ways of Washington.
At this rate, Boehner will be too far right to be Trump’s running mate.
“Well here he goes again, today saying Ted Cruz has a ârough temperamentâ for calling McConnell a liar on the Senate floor and suggesting thatâs not the right way to âcurry favorâ to âget the positive votesâ:
Trump will say whatever he feels like at the moment, and it doesn’t have to make any sense or be consistent or have any substance. He’s “unpredictable” that way. Donny being Donny.
Hatch:
âMost egregiously, Mr. President, the Senate floor has even become a place where senators have singled out colleagues by name to attack them in personal terms and to impugn their character â in blatant disregard of Senate rules, which plainly prohibit such conduct,â Hatch said.
Cruz:
Immediately after Hatch spoke, Cruz said he agreed with his call for decorum and civility. But, he said, âspeaking the truthâ is âentirely consistent with civility.â
Best line ever!
Cruz came into the Senate actiing like he was smarter than everyone and pissed off those who were, like it or not, in charge. He’s got every right to do that of course, just as he’s got to accept the consequences.
Look, as great as his conservative words are, he is NOT well liked. Compare with Rush Limbaugh or others who can make equally passionate defenses of conservative principles, but who also have the social skills to get along with others and get their ideas turned into accomplishments.
My guess is that Trump said it to raise doubts about Cruz as a president as he tries to defeat him in the primary.
