This could be the next 4 years.
No matter who the GOP nominates...just vote for em.
Don't get all stiff necked and shut down just because your fave candidate didn't get picked....

It can get a whole lot worse....

With respect, defending any Republican against Democrats, Clinton or Sanders, is spinning hamster wheels in the primary season.

The primaries are to advance conservatism in the Republican party. Trump deserves attack in that realm, as his history and even his current words confirm him to be a big government "negotiating" kinda guy. He's long been inclined in that direction. Why defend that? Against junk lefties like Sanders (that's probably who it will be)?

Cruz is a great opportunity to advance real limited government Constitutional conservatism. Trump bodes "negotiating" on the Constitution, more of the same. Cruz bodes (for the entrenched in power) implementing the Constitution to get rid of excess government. What Cruz brings is what's necessary to turn things right.

If Trump gets the nomination, I will be praying for a strong 3rd party candidate.

Well trumper/trumpette, let me tell you something. My first election was in 1970 and my first presidential election was in 1972 and all but two of elections since then I have had to grit my teeth and vote for a pretender. I did that all the way to 2012 with a vote for loser Romney and after that election I swore to myself that I would never, ever vote for a compromised candidate again, ever.

Now we come to this guy Trump. A guy that has no morals, ethics, loyalty, conviction or principles. I can name off at least ten campaign lies he has told that he knew when he made them that there is no way in hell he could fulfill them. His denigrating lies about other candidates, fellow republicans, have also been a majority of lies, innuendos, falsifications, insulting, childish, and inane. He has never even voted in a republican primary in his entire life. He has overwhelmingly supported monetarily either democrats with a couple of the worst republicans thrown in. Although he is a very successful businessman he has one of the worst ethical business histories in modern times. His reputation is as a reality show host, a showman!!!! He is a charlatan selling a pig in a polk. Today he said he will compromise with the republican establishment which will include the democrats, something all of the true conservatives did not desire. Just look at what compromise has gotten us.

So yeah, I am not voting for him. I made myself a promise in 2012 and 2016 could be my last election. I certainly do not have many, if any, left and I am keeping my promise to myself. I was going to bite my tongue and break my promise to myself until he started with all the man-child lies about Cruz. It was just the last straw.

Go ahead and lambast me, insult me, cuss me, or what ever you desire, it will make no difference. I am thru.

“If people had listened to people who think like I and others do, we'd not be in this mess.”

Respectfully, it doesn't work that way. You will ALWAYS be on the loosing side waiting on other people to come around to your way of thinking. In Chicago, where I escaped from, they voted “machine” and nobody could/would ever change the outcome. The best that could have happened there, which never did, was for a populist non-liberal candidate to run who swept up the people. As far as a conservative winning office, I just blew a snot bubble laughing at the thought.

I’d settle for FReepers not savaging each other in the run-up to this election.

Not anymore, may have been so once. But no longer.

Republican, communist, socialist, liberal, etc. A distinction without a difference.

Broad brush much? Your generalizations and gross accusations may win you points on threads with your other trolls, but the reality is quite different.

What you see here on FR is but a fraction...many FReepers refuse to engage in the political threads because they’re like schoolyard playgrounds or lunchrooms.

Bunch of children mouthing off at each other.

You don’t know jack.

Repeating what Norm said and I have said:

“And as we see with Cruz, they flatly reject the most conservative man since Reagan to keep doing it.”

Cruz IS the most conservative candidate we have had since Reagan, and many on FR are rejecting him for a man with no core values. I was shocked upon shocked to see FR go down this road, helped along by Trump shouters joining FR for that purpose.

That’s what they said in 2012 and 2008. I won’t do it anymore. No more liberals. You want me to vote Republican? Then nominate an actual conservative. Nominate Sen. Cruz.

If you insist on nominating the liberal trump, then you will have to elect him without me. And without other actual conservatives.

Cruz or lose. America.

This goes around every election. If not principled voters, then those running for office take your vote for granted.

So you prefer 0bama to McLame?

Primaries are for voting for conservatives. General elections are for voting for the person who will screw you over the least.
