Just because you’ve earned doesn’t make it interesting. Really it’s worse in baseball where people have epileptic because somebody let go of their bat with some momentum and it flipped. But I don’t want to see football get to that ridiculous. Yeah Cam (and half the rest of the league, it’s funny it’s suddenly become a problem with Cam, like everybody has forgotten that the Ickey Shuffle invade the league 25 years ago) celebrates a big play, some it’s often boring and takes too long, but really so what. That’s what going to get another beer if for. Really the level of complaining is ridiculous, especially when considering that almost every team has at least one guy with a “signature” celebration, some are short, some are long, but it’s dance happy league. Acting like the problem is all Cam is pretty myopic.

You can keep defending Cam, but you might be in the 1-5% minority here. QB's are supposed to be leaders, and show enough maturity to consistently make their teams winners in the clutch. One year does not make a legend.

He will never be in the class of Manning, Brady, Brees, or Rogers. He's nothing more than a show-boating punk, who happens to have a world class defense covering for him this year.

Are you really that thick? It is not Cam's athletic ability nor his celebrating a TD by tossing the football to a child in the end zone stands that is being called into question--

It is Cam's constant mega-sized "It Is All About Me!' ego and his "I'm an African-American QB that may scare a lot of people" race baiting that makes him a mega-sized jerk.

Now, justify that as just us old, know nothing farts blowing senile steam?

I can’t stand him, ever since I saw him at the combine. He’s a narcissist.

Can you imagine what the reaction would be from Lombardi, Halas, or Landry with these kind of antics from a QB?

To me it's alot more of a problem than ego, it's just more example of a slippery slope toward Gridiron Roller-Ball.

Re: He's a narcissist.

Well, you cannot spell narcissist without an A, S & another S... so it fits Cam to a T!

Egads! Now, he'd be telling everyone... he's an African-Narcissist that may scare a lot of people--

Well, it would be time to have him... run a few extra Landry Miles.

I'd fine him... until he saw the light--

Hell, I'd kick his ass... from here to Milwaukee!

I’m not really defending Cam, I’m pointing out the silliness of the complaints about Cam. The Panthers have lost 1 game in the last season and a half. There’s a very good chance that next week he has as many rings as Manning, Brees and Rogers. And he’s A LOT more than a showboating punk. Right now he’s the most dynamic QB in the league, a scrambling QB that actually bothered to learn to pass from the pocket so he makes his reads BEFORE deciding to scramble. That world class defense didn’t put 45 TDs on the board this season, or combine for 4500 total yards of offense, or pull 30 yards per passing attempt. Like him or don’t like him as a players as you choose, but pretending he doesn’t have talent is just being silly.

Cam screwed over Florida big-time.

Turns out, he was going to be suspended from the program for Academic reasons, but had he stayed at UF and got suspended, it would create problems for his eligibility if he transferred, so he decided to leave UF before he was going to be suspended, and thus, kept his eligibility.

Also, when Tebow said he was returning for his Senior year, that was also another straw.

It has also been about 25 years since an MVP QB only had 3837 yards of passing in a season. Real hoss , I tell ya.

Only people being thick here are the ones pretending there’s some drastic difference between Cam and every other over the top celebrator the league has had for the last quarter of a century. EVERY QB thinks it’s all about them, because IT IS. Look how often QBs get the credit for wins gotten by their defense (Tebow), or the blame for losses gotten by their defense (Romo). Whether they want it to be or not it is all about them, they get all the credit, they get all the blame, they’re the face of the franchise, and goal #1 of every GM in the league is having a good one.

And given how often the complaints about Cam focus on him being “street” he’s not the race baiter here.

It is just you guys blowing senile steam. Because really there’s one of two options here: either you’ve been complaining about this for 25 years, in which case adjust to the new reality; of you JUST finally decided to start complaining about this, in which case show how he’s any different than Ickey, Lewis, Sanders, Anderson...

Cam didn’t invent this stuff:

And it’s kind of stupid that so many people are suddenly acting like it’s all his fault.

True sportsmanship has become such a rarer and rarer commodity in professional sports. Celebrating and taunting like a lot of other things we see now, are just much like barometer of the moral fiber of our society.

Wouldn't be novel if a WR or RB just handed the ball to the official once after a TD for a change?

Now that would be a real throw-back.

15-1
35 passing TDs
10 rushing TDs
4473 total yards

Who’s a better MVP candidate than that? None of the “usual suspects” had anywhere near that good a season. Rodgers had fewer passing yards and TDs. If Manning the elder doesn’t get hurt he leads the league in INTs (he’s only 1 behind the guy who did). Younger Manning got a lot more yards, but missed the playoffs. Brees, also more yards, also no playoffs. Brady’s got sexy stats, but his team lost 4 out of the last 6. And neither did the non-usual suspects. MVP is graded on a curve, he got it this year.. probably. Unless it’s Brady. It might be Brady, depending on how many voter just want to irritate Goodell.
