“Good to go for papaya!”

Normally we’d have mangoes too at this time of year - literally by the ton since we have two mature mango trees in the yard. But, we had two or tree big typhoons last year and also had to have them pruned and they went into shock dropping their leaves. They’ve just started flowering again. After the last typhoon (The one that destroyed Saipan) I picked up LITERALLY 1600 pounds of green mangoes from the yard. Since all the trees on island had the same problem there was no way to sell them or even give them away and they ended up being thrown away.

We have banana, mango, papaya, passion fruit, Thai lemon tree and a brand new star fruit tree. We’re thinking about a macadamia nut tree in the front yard for shade.

The real issue is the tropics never get cold enough to kill any bugs

Too bad about the wasted fruit. I love mangoes and lemons the most right after watermelon and cantaloupe. I can see what you are saying about the bugs!

Have you considered adding a Thai lime?
