Remember when folks used to dress up to fly?

I still get somewhat dressed up to fly. Not quite a suit, but not looking like some of the riff-raff on board.
I am not old enough to remember that kind of flying, but I would love to go back to that. Now it’s like the greyhound of the skies on a lot of these carriers.

Heck, remember when people used to dress up to go out to eat...or for church...or a wedding...or a funeral?
I miss it.
Sure, I like being able go nearly anywhere and do nearly anything in a rumpled pair of jeans and a ratty shirt, but...there just isn’t any ceremony in damn near anything anymore.
And I miss that.

I do remember! Three things strike me when I look at this:
1. Smoking in flight!
2. Guys in suits must be hot as h3ll
3. Children well behaved (and adults as well).

That’s before people demanded lower fares and were treated like cattle.

The first time I ever flew, it was first class Logan to LAX on the old TWA in September of '62.
A different world, my FRiend, a different world.
