There are a lot of moderate Republicans out there. Hard to believe if you only hang out here, but there are. My dad, now deceased was one. They dislike anyone who wears their religion on their sleeve. Trump's braggadocio is unbecoming to old-school conservatives. Pretty sure Dad would have been a Rubio supporter if he were still alive. For sure he would not be amused by Donald Trump, and I think he would find Cruz divisive.
I took myself out totally about two months ago. It’s like getting off heroin - only there are no withdrawal symptoms - just pure bliss not having to run into the same morons every day.

I think Palin likely helped Trump. But then Trump sort of flitted it away by ducking the debate, and frankly getting a bit too “mouthy,” calling Cruz an anchor-baby and such. People like and want strong talk. But there’s a difference between talk that exudes strength and “mouthiness.” Trump has trouble with that fine line that separates the two. It’s a weakness that’s very liable to do him in.
Ted Cruz won. The man she helped put in the senate as opposed to the Democrat flip-fopper Donald Duck Trump. That is why.
What was ground game? Did anyone even know who he was, outside the bubble of truly Christian purists?
