Don’t count on it. Hillary will be it and she will destroy anyone not conservative. The crank populists (Sanders/Trump) are there for comic relief. The real battle is between the Establishment Progressives versus the Lone Conservative.

Hillary will step down willingly if it is part of a deal involving a pardon...

I've asked a million times, but never got an answer from anyone who knows what he/she is talking about.

Can pardons be issued preemptively? If yes, what great vehicle for the mythical perfect murder!

I thought one had to be indicted or convicted to qualify for a pardon.

Not before the crime, only after. You don't have to be indicted yet, the pardon just prevents any prosecution for the crime set forth in the pardon.

It's why Obama can pardon all the illegal aliens, but he can't prevent a President from kicking them out or for prosecuting their continued violation of US law.

Yes, I was referring to her as Horseface, but then I realized that was Kerry.

Never thought they would, although Castro will almost certainly by the VP, no matter who is at the top of the ticket.

My guesses?

1. Warren (most likely)
2. Biden
3. M. Obama

The switcheroo can happen after the nominating convention.

So long as there is time to change the ballots, I suppose that is true. There would have to be some provision in the DNC bylaws about what happens if the candidate is no longer available after the convention has already occurred. I don't know what those bylaws say.

What ground game? They can just nominate and vote in someone at the convention.

Filing deadlines aren’t an issue.

For example, the filing deadline for Texas as Dec 14, but there are rules they allow a not filed candidate to be placed in nomination by a major political party.

Most States have such rules because the major party nominees aren’t chosen until well after the filing deadlines and well, stuff happens.

I think most likely, Hillary wins the nomination. She gets SC and the southern states, probably NY and most of the midwest, and eventually, Bernie fades. But her poll numbers for the general will be terrible, and the powers that be in the party will be looking for a way to get rid of her, if they aren’t already planning that.

I did not know this...Why even have a filing deadline then?

They’re going to draft Michelle at the convention. You heard it here first.

Has there ever been a pardon for Treason? Is it legal to exempt Treasonous behavior from prosecution? And if so, what are the repercussions for the future of the Nation that allows a single known criminal to be allowed to defile the very nation in which she lives?

I imagine both Hillary and J. Assuage will be victims of gun violence or found dead for leaking secret information, should either walk free by either the UN's hand or that of Obama.

I think there are filing deadlines and nomination papers that must be filed in all the states that would preclude a sudden switch.

There are probably rules that allow a switch in cases of health or death, but I don’t think the rules allow a switch because “our candidate might lose”.

Of course we are dealing with dems here and a dem admin and “compliant” SCOTUS.

I believe the power is not restricted or limited. Treason is a crime so treason would be pardonable. A nation where treason is not a big deal will be defeated at some point by the many predators that lurk around the world.

The voter ballots don't matter, seriously. The vote that counts is the one cast by the electors (not the voters) when the electors send THEIR ballots to Congress.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Bernie dies soon with mysterious circumstances. Clinton is that kind of evil.

The feminist-LGBT faction has power and wants an Elizabeth Warren type if it isnt Hillary.

Elizabeth Warren wants to be annointed.

The money in the party, the insiders are smart. They recognize that they are the enemy. They will look for an outsider, a non-politician. Will they choose a Mrs Gates or Mrs Jobs? Someone who can self-fund and not be labeled dependent on them?

There are other possibilities.

The Dem race might be as open as the Republican was a year ago this time.
