A lot has come down over the weekend on the situation in Oregon.

God Bless America and hopefully more will wake up to the situation unfolding as described in this post.

I hope for peaceful resistance including unarmed people subjecting themselves to arrest at the refuge siege perimeter but accept that things could go bad. I hope not and pray not.

or is one or more them working for the FBI?

My money would be on the guy who bailed on the fatal car ride at the last moment. But if history is any guide, it could be that most of them are on the payroll.

The Klan was deeply infiltrated by the FBI and quite a few FBI informants were planted around Martin Luther King back in the 1960’s.

MLK picked out some trusted people and went to a secluded place to plan the protests at Birmingham in 1963.

The Birmingham protest was utterly successful in moving the cause of racial equality forward.

Those protests were a pivotal moment in history that shook the nation to its core and got the Kennedy Administration into gear using the FBI to directly spy on Martin Luther King’s phone calls and hotel rooms.

Outrage over Bull Connor’s backlash on the protests unfortunately did lead to a cycle of violence and bitterness which has lingered on for decades, but I won’t blame that on MLK, it wasn’t his intention.

Bad operation gone sour, and they are psychologically unable to let go of it because of the homicide of their friend. They’d get far more exposure through a lawsuit over the wrongful death of Finicum.

Lawsuits are nice but I sense a desire not to be put in jail and denied their rights to vote and own firearms based on my viewing of the Anderson’s video I mentioned in an earlier post.

A lot of people on the outside who claimed to be their friends don’t want any armed response to the area to support the people at “Camp Finicum”.

I agree with the letter of the idea but not the spirit.

These people were left under the impression they would have armed backup in a pinch and when the pinch came the backup didn’t come probably because the Pacific Patriots Network group was ‘compromised’ as David Fry put it in his video.

He says FBI, I think it could be the Republican Party fronting to keep the lid on anything politically embarrassing like violence from the militia side and to organize a group of people who will vote GOP in local, state and federal elections.

Unarmed people should get out there in front of the cameras with all the risks involved, perhaps. If the FBI and OSP go rough on them, its their fault.

I feel for them. I really do.

But, if an operation hasn’t gone off the way you’d planned it, then there is no shame in calling it off. In fact, it’s better to call it off. A retreat is not always a bad thing. It gives time to reconstitute, reconsider, and plan for a better day.

The four folks there at the refuge (Camp Finicum) need some honest backup instead of folks who promised them things that were not delivered.

I think some of those who claimed to be their friends betrayed them, either because of loyalty to the FBI (spies, informants) or to the Republican Party IMHO instead of other means to resist the federal land policies in the West and the renewed imprisonment of the Hammonds.

The FBI side already went violent killing LaVoy Fincicum and injuring Ryan Bundy, these people haven’t.

Acts of love would be a heck of a lot better than acts of violence in this situation, I’m sure of that.

Well, someone had to take King out for a breath of fresh air on the Memphis motel balcony. No one wanted to stand too close and block the breeze.

If the FBI had wanted to go Waco on them, they would have taken out the whole carload. They only took out the guy who promised to not be taken alive. And now, it looks like the remaining folks have made the same promise.

In any event, a good prosecutor could hang a murder rap on all of the folks involved based on the death of Fincicum. They certainly haven't been over-charged at this point.

Well, then, get them out of there.

Can Franklin Graham accomplish that?

You’re reading my mind.

When I think of Franklin Graham, I think of his background of being on the rough side himself like David Fry and the others there.

Franklin was like quite a few preacher’s kids who sowed their ‘wild oats’ then came ‘back to the fold’.

Of course, the monster in me always rears its ugly head. I want to associate Franklin’s father with the established politicians in this country who in most cases have led us on a dark path.

I was “indoctrinated” to dislike Dr. Billy Graham in my youth by the radio preachers who felt he was a ‘compromiser’.

That idea was wrong, God as I understand God chooses to work according to His ways, not my prideful and vain notions.

I don’t know the answer but Franklin Graham is operating on a higher plane than others have in this situation and I hope the feds might let him in for face to face contact.

As I understand it, their firefighter’s shack is also considered a legitimate refuge for the stranded, lost, wandering, etc? Even if not, it hasn’t hurt a soul that those folks have camped there.

Charge them KOA rates, if necessary, and send them home.

If I were governor, I’d do all that and have them gone, uncharged with anything, inside of 24 hours. I’d even pay their KOA rates.

James Earl Ray was portrayed as a lone actor whose hatred and criminal record spoke to his ability to commit the crime.

But there has been talk of a conspiracy in the MLK assassination.

The Kennedy Family has done a better job with their connections in spreading the conspiracy notion around for the JFK Assassination.

Jackie felt that in her heart from the beginning and was listing MLK essentially as an enemy when she disparaged his secret sex life in her January 1964 recording with historian Arthur Schlesinger discussing all adversaries of JFK.

I agree. This is just not the hill to die on. There will be better fights coming down the road.
