Granted that the debate rhetoric was punishing. However, the stated fact that Cruz would support Rubio over Trump just goes ta show ya....that at the end of the day the 'LAWYER POLITICIANS' only know how to stick together. Really Cruz? You would go with Open Borders rather than get past your personal animus?

I think Cruz thinks the most important issue facing voters is the USSC nominations. He must trust Rubio more to nominate conservative originalists than Trump. I don’t hold that against Cruz either. Personally, I don’t trust Trump or Rubio, which is why I support Ted Cruz. I also think Cruz thinks Trump supports amnesty same as Rubio, since that is the position he had always taken until going on the campaign trail.
Where do you get this "Open Borders" crap? None of the Republican candidates is in favor of "Open Borders."

I’d be willing to overlook everything and pull the lever for him, until he opened his mouth about Planned Parenthood and undid decades of hard work that’s been done to help people understand how evil that organization is. And he continues to do it - as if he’s determined to convince Republicans that they’ve just been stupid not to see how GOOD his friends at Planned Parenthood are.

Or this is consistent with his message that Trump is unelectable against Hillary, and that Rubio doesn’t have the baggage Trump does (as mentioned during the debate). Ascribing this to malice rather than the argument Cruz made isn’t supportable.

No, I doesn’t. Cruz is probably believes an amnesty bill can’t make it through the House. I don’t think he trusts Tump to nominate conservative originalists the the USSC. That is why Cruz would support Rubio over Trump. I am caucusing for Cruz. If he drops out before the KS caucus, I’ll most likely just stay home. I don’t like Rubio or Trump and can’t stomach casting a caucus vote for either of them.
More basic then that. Cruz has never faced losing and he can’t deal with it. He is sucking his thumb in public. Creating in Iowa is dragged him down.
Yeah, another reason Ted would support Rubio over Trump is Trump’s support for Planned Parenthood.
He was my first choice also and I feel the same as you. Bat-Sh!t crazy is good one. Glenn Beck has lost it all and any candidate that teams up with him will lose.

Thanks. I’ve been suspecting for a while that career politician Cruz would be called home to the GOPe. All his self interested beltway theater performances would be forgiven if he helped take down Trump.
What is really bad here with Cruz shacking up with Rubio is that Cruz is throwing issue oriented conservatives (amnesty, obamatrade) under the bus to go after the mushy moderates that have been bumping up Rubio in the polls. Cruz has figured out he can’t out Trump Trump so he is moving in with the cabana boy.
Given this craven betrayal of conservatives by Cruz, all his longtime conservative supporters need to reassess their support for him, ASAP.
Cruz is having a Cam Newton dark moment. Only thing missing is the hoodie. It is know deeper then that.

Well I don’t think Cruz is a traitor but what he is is just another establishment politician. And thanx to Donald Trump he was totally unmasked last night. He’s OK with the IRS and amnesty. I never trusted him immigration. Now I know I was right.
