Three Simple Questions for Trump Supporters
American Thinker ^ | February 26, 2016 | Daren Jonescu

Posted on 02/28/2016 10:30:31 AM PST by Avoiding_Sulla

One summer's evening, a skinny, not-particularly athletic boy, perhaps eleven years old, scored the most glorious touchdown of his life.  This was not a real game.  My friend and I, along with his older brother Phil, were just tossing a ball around in the park.  But it was a memorable triumph because I scored my touchdown by outmaneuvering Phil with a head fake, and then outrunning him for half the length of the field.  It was almost too easy!

snip

...today, addressing myself to any Trump supporters who are not already lost to the irrational anger he feeds on -- please don't scream about "righteous anger," as if I don't know the difference between justice and wrath -- I pose three simple questions:

(1) Don't you get the strange feeling that this has all been suspiciously easy?

snip

(2) Don't you find it odd that Trump, who habitually says the harshest, crudest, vilest things he can think of about anyone he perceives as an opponent or threat, never substantively criticizes the key players in the establishment at all?

snip

(3) If you were Rove, McConnell, and the rest of the GOP elite, and you wanted to end the growing grassroots threat to your power and influence once and for all, how would you go about it?

Avoiding_The_Fact_That_You've_Been_Had_By_Trump over the "libel" thingee, Avoiding_Sulla?

It is to laugh. :)

BlackAdderess wrote: My opinion is that if you look at the political professional class in the GOP, they are pretty awful and not the sort any elite worth his/her salt wants working for them. I think also that they have picked sides and interfered a few times too many. They are in short a liability to all of us, elite and unwashed masses alike. My hope is that we can lose these nitwits and get back to common sense.

Excellent post. :)

Trump is no "true conservative," but there is no doubt that he loves America and wants to change the direction we have been heading.

That's as good as you're going to get.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

Give that man a cigar!

ROTFLMAO! Trump has done almost nothing but criticize the key establishment players. They hate him for hating them and dissing them.

I think our time for Sulla is past. Obama has crossed the Rubicon, we are being asked to choose our Octavian.

No. Check your history. G.W.Bush + Obama = Marius. Sulla “fixed” the Latin problem for a time.

Rove, McConnell et. al. are not that smart.

HYPOTHESIS FAIL!

Trump is the elite’s chosen instrument to preside over the decline and likely destruction of America....

Oh really.

However, when such stalwart titans of financial establishmentarianism as the Council of Foreign Relations and "The Economist", who until now had been largely ignoring Trump's ascent in the political hierarchy finally unleash an all out assault and go after Trump on the very same day, you know that the flamboyant, hyperbolic billionaire has finally gotten on the nerves of some very high net worth individuals.

From the zerohedge story linked to in another thread.

I should have written Latins instead of Latin. I’m guessing you know the difference, but others might not.

And, BTW, I agree that many who favor Trump are thinking they’re choosing their Octavian. Problem is in the details — “And when the last law was down, and the Devil turned ’round on you, where would you hide, Roper, the laws all being flat? “ — and recognizing that an emperor is what the Progs have wanted all along. The GOPe is filled with Progs.

I’ve recently become a praying man.

And just to be clear, I’m not yet convinced that Cruz is not one of them whereas I know Trump has been cooperating with them his whole life.

You are right. All they can do is copy what has worked for power brokers before. You know me a long time. In this season I have reverted to my very first tagline.

How better to assure a victory large enough to retake the senate and maybe they even the house? Just speculating.

Our [infrastructure] is falling apart, our roads, our bridges, our power grids are collapsing, and if you don’t believe me on that, ever went thru a brown out in the Summer?

Don't worry! Almighty Government can save you! They can provide for your every need! Until they don't.

Wake up. America is in decline for a reason, and it isn't because we don't have a strongman in the Presidency. This is systemic, and will not change until the moral values of this people that has been destroyed are rebuilt. And that will never happen while people are looking to the next strongman in power to make the trains run on time.

The elite are trying to destroy him because the secretly want him. Do you guys ever stop and think before you hit “post”

I think a lot deeper than your average Trump supporter. Have you ever seen Warren Buffet, George Soros, or any other financial elite criticize Trump? No, and you won't, either.

But, it doesn't matter. Time and again, people around the world have elected a strongman they thought could solve all their problems. And he did, too-- he made the trains run on time. Right up to the gates of the death camps. Laugh it up.

Oh sure thing that’s why they threatening independent run and a late Romney entry

You need your meds checked

And you need to figure out who is really in power. Hint: it isn't GOPe. Romney DID NOT GET ELECTED last time, and won't this time.

And by the way: I would NEVER take psychotropic medicines in today's America, because of the threat to my right to keep and bear arms. Hmm, wonder if Trump does?

establishment designated and approved outsider candidate.

Like I told somebody else on this thread, learn who is in power. It isn't the GOPe. It is the financial types and the one-worlders. Tell me ONCE that Warren Buffet has criticized Trump. He hasn't, because Buffet knows he can profit from the chaos that Trump will bring.

And my the way-- Cruz can't fix it either, because there is no political solution at this point.

>> (3) If you were Rove, McConnell, and the rest of the GOP elite, and you wanted to end the growing grassroots threat to your power and influence once and for all, how would you go about it? <<<

If I was Rove

I would sponsor some toadie who had national name recognition, could speak Spanish, but traditional enough to still call himself a "head banging conservative". I would brand him as an "outsider" even though his family has been in national politics for over 60 years and I would help him raise tens of millions of dollars.

I would use the guise of a "big tent" to marginalize conservative voices and make them seem like extremists.

I would quietly get the GOPe to change the primary rules and finance rules so no outsider would have a chance at winning. To make it look like a fair contest, I would persuade a bunch of other RINOs to run. Even if all the RINOs lost, by pretending to fight the good fight, they will keep their "honor" and more importantly our Chamber of Commerce and political consultant buddies will still win big.

RINO win or Hillary win, the inevitable change in voter demographics will preclude a constitutional conservative from ever getting elected president again.

The floodgate to demographic suicide is already open. Ted Cruz may try to shut it but my friends in the media and GOPe will take care of him with the usual smears, lies and dirty tricks. The Tea started the surge to win back the Senate but looked what happened to Ken Cuccinelli. The GOPe showed their gratitude by knee capping him in Virginia against a very beatable Clintonista.
Trump may try to close the floodgate but is he dependable? Can a political amateur outfox, Rove, the smartest guy in the room?

The only thing that would worry me is if the TRUMPets and the CRUZers called a cease fire. It is the GOPe's best interest to keep stirring the pot until the spaghetti hits the fan, even if it means the Clintonistas win back the White House.
