Trump vs. Schwarzenegger
none | Today | Me

Posted on 03/02/2016 7:03:33 PM PST by BADROTOFINGER

Looking at the Trumpsters of today, I am reminded of the rabid Schwarzenegger supporters of yesteryear. Not caring about conservatism, not giving a damn about principles, not caring one bit about anything but winning. Perhaps a few of a Schwarzeneggerites would like to comment about how all of that worked out.

Cruz was parroting the exact same argument Rube-o was about Trump’s tax returns, and he isn’t disavowing Linda Graham’s endorsement of him (while Trump told GOPe stooge Christie to get lost).

I’m not going to pretend Trump is anywhere close to perfect, but the GOP-e must be annihilated, and Trump would do this while remaining solidly conservative on the most important issues (albeit he is quite flawed on several minir issues).

By the way calling the never trump crowd names and hurling insults only hardens our resolve. .................... Not worried about the never Trump crowd, or the Trump crowd, I worry only about the Clinton crowd. I’m only interested in seeing her comfortably retired in one of her mansions after Nov.8. I was for Cruz, but he doesn’t draw the crowds. We have a huge registration activity going on here like elsewhere. I won’t know until the 18th what the results will show, if they are for Trump then I’ll go with him, or any other the results show. I have no beef with any of the candidates, but I will never vote for Hillary, I’d rather take my chances with Trump. I voted for Romney even though I saw him losing. I voted for Palin in 2008 regardless of whoever she was stuck with as a running mate. I knew it was a loosing proposition but voted anyway. If Christy was the candidate or anyone else running, its not a choice when it comes to Hillary. The Republicans could run Charles Manson and I’d pick him over Hillary.s/ I’m sure Hillary will appreciate your vote, you can boast about it after the general.

Like building a wall and enforcing immigration law. Doesn't need Congress for that--the laws already exist.

President Trump will not be able to build a wall unless Congress appropriates the funds.

As a hardcore McClintock supporter..and anti Rnull.... I reject your idiotic premise

And blast the hypocrisy of those on the right that support Cruz while they chased Obamas birth certificate the last 8 years

Remember it was Hillary Clinton that invented the birther moment against Obama

You have an doubt she will go after Cruz on the same point?..

All the while talking about the hypocrisy of the conservatives on both Cruz birth vs Obama and our illegal immigration stand .painting Cruz as an illegal alien ..

This will be a tight race the Dem just has to shave a few percentage points from Cruz with this

It doesn't even matter even if you did have the law on your side .

perception is everything..and...the perception sucks....

It'll kill Cruz and make the conservative movement look like the biggest pack of hypocrites in a hundred years...

The butt of every late night jokes for the entire election

And should Cruz get elected the Dem will throw the whole thing into a Dem friendly Supreme Court packed with Obama new Scalia replacement ...

And cheered on by amnesty GOPe that doesn't want Cruz either...

And again ...it doesn't matter even if you did had the law on your side

The DC Power establishment just need have enough law to have a justification to rule Cruz as not eligible... and the Dems and the GOPe are saving that Supreme Court Ace up their sleeve should Cruz ever get elected...

This is the same Supreme Court that even with Scalia rewrote natural law for gay marriage and rewrote the Constitution for Obamacare to save it ... do you have any doubt without Scalia what the ruling would be?....get real...

You know, I know, everybody else knows, if Cruz is any kind of threat to the DC power the fix is already in, SCOTUS is already signed sealed and delivered to rule Cruz not eligible if they needed it

And after eight years of Obama birther on the right and Dem with a desire for payback for Supreme Court stealing the election from their perspective on Gore Bush in 2000 by the Supreme Court.....
.. do you think you'll get enough outrage in the country to fight that ruling?

Cruz and his support need to quit lying to themselves saying he doesn't have this big vulnerability, this Achilles heel

Cruz now has no freaking hope of getting in to office even if you did get the votes ..not with the politics today in DC......

Cruz didn't address the issue 3-4 years ago when he should of... now he has a kill switch inside his campaign he will never be able to take office...

Deal with it and quit denying else you are going to sink us all with this...

if you can't deal with Trump then go with GOPe s amnesty boy, Gay Marco ...

because when it comes to president... Cruz is a political dead man walking

As I recall, Schwarzenegger was saddled with a Democrat legislature who made it nearly impossible for him to do anything.

Trump won’t have that handicap.

If the Republicans were wise, they would jump on this opportunity to return the country to the people and to do what’s right instead of what advances a party line.

They aren’t that wise. Unfortunately.

Arnold was a washed up actor.

Trump is a globally successful businessman, manager and leader.

The a Vote for A= a Vote for B argument has gone stale with me over the years.

I consider voting to be a duty. I've raised my children to believe it is a duty. It is not my duty to vote for someone whom I believe is the antithesis of what I believe in and what I believe the country needs. The “R” on the ballot will not sway me this time.

I too voted for Palin and not McCain. I voted for Romney and felt dirty afterwords because I was voting for someone I did not think would be good for the country nor the conservative movement.

Trump, likewise, will not be good for constitutional conservatism. His election will effectively end the tea party movement. The damage done in just four years will haunt us for twenty. I will be lucky to see a conservative president in my lifetime.

A vote for Trump in the primary is a vote for Hillary in the General. I'd talk about Trump's negatives and the polls with him and hillary but everyone should know by now.

Gray Davis was a disaster! As I recall, Arnold did try to return some sanity to the budget and pension plans but did not get very far with the democrats running everything.

“He (Schwarzenegger) was an actor”......

Ronald Reagan was an actor. Trump couldn’t hold Reagan’s
cowboy hat. You should find a different Arnold
disqualifier.

I voted for Arnold Schwarzenegger and it seemed like the best thing at the time, but we knew going into that he was pro-abortion and and ‘moderate’ at best on social issues (with the exception of gay marriage). But for California, he was better than Angelides. I don’t really regret voting for him, and I regret even less that I no longer live in California.

With Trump, it’s different. His stands are far more conservative than Arnold ever was and that’s why I feel comfortable supporting Trump. The fact that Arnold is not supporting Trump should also speak volumes.

DING, DING, DING, DING.

You win the post of the day. It is amazing how the Trumpites can see their own lack of principles. Donald Trump is Arnold on the national scale. WHAT A SUCKING DISASTER TRUMP WILL BE!!!!! He is a man of the lowest character — what other presidential candidate (other than Bill Clinton) would ever speak of nailing Princess Diana or say that if he murdered someone his cult-like followers would still be with him. Trump is trash.

Californians know better than to go with the faux Republican after their years with the small-scale Donald Trump, Arnold Schwarzenegger.

This is what happened with the Arnold.

He came into the governor’s mansion vowing to lower the tax burden, impose some spending restraint and revive the state’s economy. Instead, he ended up signing a huge tax increase even as the state’s deficit spending continued and the debt nearly tripled under his watch. At one point, he pushed his own version of universal health care.

Would Mr. Trump fare any better? It’s hard to believe he would, not least because his commitment to freer markets and smaller government is even thinner than Mr. Schwarzenegger’s was.

To his fans, Mr. Trump is a hero challenging a testosterone-deprived GOP establishment on behalf of the people. In this world, actual experience with the workings of government becomes an indictment rather than an advantage.

As far as I’m concerned, Trump is a liberal New Yorker and fake Republican. He will destroy the country instead of saving it. He is an egotist of the highest order. If he messes up our nation further after Obama, his supporters on this website will have done much evil to their nation, but sadly many of them would still support him — even if he murdered someone, as he said. That’s sick.

NO, it wasn’t. The best thing would have been to vote for Tom McClintock, the conservative. I worked my tail off for him. He would have been a great governor. Ted Cruz is the man for president, not the Democrat man.

I call BS. McClintock could have won if conservatives had voted for him rather than Arnold. What a disaster Arnold was and is. You blame the people for Arnold; I’ll blame the Republicans for Trump, including many here, if Trump gets in.
