Trump says Planned Parenthood does “good work.” Sex predators agree.

As Live Action’s Calvin Freiburger reported, Donald Trump has made some confusing statements about Planned Parenthood. Again.

Despite having pledged to fully defund the group, Trump seemed to imply funding could continue if the money didn’t support Planned Parenthood’s abortion services. In an interview last month on “Meet the Press,” the presidential candidate got this question from Chuck Todd…

Democrats will say that money they give to Planned Parenthood does not go to abortions, that the money they give to Planned Parenthood only goes to other women’s health including mammograms and things like that. If you knew the government money were only going to that, would you support funding Planned Parenthood?

Trump’s response wasn’t the clearest. He initially said, “Yeah, if it didn’t have to do with abortions,” and then went on to tout the “very good work” on “lot’s of women’s issues” that his “many, many” female friends say Planned Parenthood does. While that seems to imply he would continue funding Planned Parenthood’s non-abortion related activities, Trump followed with this:

Planned Parenthood does a lot of good, does a really good job on a lot of different areas, but not on abortion. So I am not gonna fund it if it’s doing the abortion. I am not gonna fund it. Now they say it’s three percent, and it’s four percent, some people say it’s sixty percent. I don’t believe it’s sixty percent, by the way, I think it’s probably a much lower number. But Planned Parenthood does some very good work. But I would defund as long as they’re doing abortions.

A few things should be clarified here. One is that contrary to what Chuck Todd says, Planned Parenthood doesn’t do mammograms. It does do abortions, however–over three hundred thousand every year.

According to Planned Parenthood, tax dollars don’t subsidize their abortion business, as the money can only be used for other purposes. While that might be true in theory, the graphic below explains how well it works in practice:

Further, far from threatening women’s access to healthcare, defunding Planned Parenthood could actually improve it (more on that later). But while women wouldn’t be negatively impacted, there are definitely some men who’d have big problems if Planned Parenthood wasn’t around.

Although sexual abuse is often hard to detect, warning signs can crop up. Colorado’s Office of Children, Youth, & Families explains that when a child under fourteen “becomes pregnant or contracts a venereal disease,” it’s time to get suspicious. Timothy Smith understood that, which is why he brought his thirteen year-old stepdaughter to Planned Parenthood for an abortion after getting her pregnant. Thankfully for him, staff there weren’t too concerned; one later explained that “being thirteen and pregnant alone is not a red flag.”

Smith wasn’t unique; fellow child rapists Luis Gonzalez-Jose, John Blanks, Jr., Adam Gault, Joseph Coles, Kevon Walker, Edgar Ramirez, and Grey David Woods obtained coverup abortions from Planned Parenthood too.

Alleged serial rapist Tyler Kost appears to have gotten a hand without even knowing it. When one of his alleged victims went to Planned Parenthood, she was told that reporting the assault would involve too much work. The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office has said an investigation could have been opened months earlier if a report had been filed.

That lack of concern at Planned Parenthood is something Live Action investigators have repeatedly documented. Using hidden cameras, they’ve caught staff offering to hide hide abusive relationships and set up abortions on underage prostitutes who “can’t speak English” and “won’t know what’s going on.”

This type of outfit shouldn’t receive taxpayer funding, no matter how much “good work” Donald Trump thinks they do. Thankfully, a better alternative exists.

Throughout the country, more than thirteen thousand federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) supply care to people with limited means. They’re not only far more accessible than Planned Parenthood, they also provide more services, performing over five hundred thousand mammograms annually.

Tell Congress you want Planned Parenthood’s funding sent to FQHCs instead. While you’re at it, tell the presidential contenders that this isn’t an issue pro-lifers are willing to compromise on. If they’re confused about that, then it’s something we need to straighten out.

You can't be against abortion and say that.

What is the bigger fish to fry?

Last time I looked, unfortunately abortions are still legal. He doesn’t want our tax dollars going for them. PP can do the abortions and charge the patient.

Trump, generally speaking, has said social issues, marijuana etc are local issues, not SCOTUS or federal ones. I agree with that.

This guy John Roberts is turning into a loaded cannon.

who are you to say what i can be “against” my biggest issue is the culture that makes abortion acceptable, the crappy economy that drives many young women to abortion because they dont think they’ll ever be financially ready to raise a child, and finally i want to fight in a battle thats winnable in the foreseeable future

Maybe his is just being “Realistic”

I think Trump says this because he doesn’t want to look like a man taking away poor women’s health care.

That is his angle

I don’t 100% agree with this angle, but I understand it

In general I could agree, but this is not a social issue - abortion is a right to life issue. Unborn children are is not a plant or an alcoholic beverage - the overwhelming scientific evidence is that unborn children are living, human beings. This is not on the same plain as pot or drugs.

But you should never forget the babies. No matter what.

Every piece of legislation, every bill that is written, every correspondence should never forget the babies in the womb.

And every candidate running for office on a Republican ticket should never forget the babies, born or unborn.

Or God will forget us.

You shut down these private clinics as they’ve been doing. You shut down planned parenthood, if they’re using tax payer money to do abortions.

My point here is, whether PP does anything good or not outside of abortions, is not an issue worth talking about.

He said he would not fund abortions through PP. He said five times he’d disavow the KKK. There’s a pattern here, that is being orchestrated by Paul Ryan and the rest of these bast*rds.

They’re trying trap the man into saying something he’s not.

NO DOUBT MEGYN KELLY WILL ASK HIM AGAIN THE SAME QUESTIONS.

Dead horse meets baseball bat. Again.

No, it’s more of a bunch of dead babies. But why would we care about a few babies. Small price to pay for all the good that Planned Parenthood does.

I know what you mean but think of it this way.

Trump has obviously not taken the time to think about the issue enough to know that PP hands out birth control pills and does abortions.

If he has not taken the time to identify the distinction of what PP really does, then is he going to take the time to really look at who he will send up to the Supreme Court for nomination? Will they defend life - the first of our Liberties?

Our country is being lost due to people ignoring the details that are most important to our nation.

Trump has said they will have to get out of the abortion business to keep getting money. Works for me.

Stupid article that again misses Trump’s brilliant triangulation. No accounting for lack of intelligence among “pro-lifers” who haven’t been able to trim a single penny from PP in 40 years. Trump will.

re: “They’re trying trap the man into saying something he’s not.”

I’m sure you are correct on that regard. I will support Trump if he gets the nomination. I’m just trying to understand exactly what he is saying on various issues. I also realize I’m not going to get 100% of what I want in any one candidate. I’m not against Trump, rather I’m just wanting to know where everyone is on these issues.
