Bullet hole on LaVoy Finicum's truck traced to elite FBI team

BEND – Something didn't seem right about the bullet hole in the top of Robert "LaVoy" Finicum's white Dodge pickup.

Investigators from the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office could account for bullet holes in the left front hood, the driver's side mirror and the front grille. They came from the automatic weapon of a state trooper who had fired three times at the truck as Finicum raced at 70 mph toward a police roadblock on Jan. 26.

The angle of a fourth bullet hole didn't match the others.

An elaborate computer analysis, a review of the FBI aerial video of the shooting scene and a video from a passenger in Finicum's pickup produced a result that startled the team poring over evidence into Finicum's fatal shooting that day.

The fourth round, police concluded, was fired by an FBI agent who subsequently twice denied to investigators ever firing his gun. As the investigation proceeded, detectives determined he also fired a second time, but didn't hit anything at the scene.

Pretty serious when police lie during an investigation
= = =

Much more rare that they are ‘called out’ on it.

That’s exactly it. There was absolutely no reason to kill Lavoy unless “a message needed to be sent” ...from the WH.

The experts will eventually count them. I saw enough when I saw the window break and you can hear multiple other shots and see the reverberation of their bodies as the truck was being hit. You can see lasers on them at times and the video matches exactly with what both witnesses have testified to.

This was criminal behavior, like being in a third world country or a mafia hit scene. They should be forced to release everyone they have rounded up immediately and stop the attack on American citizens under the guise of law enforcement. It is political persecution.

Way more than the 4 they originally claimed. They were shooting back at the first stop too and during the chase. They knew that 2 females, including a young girl were in the truck.

Did a google search and they claim there were only eight.

Watching the video from inside seems more that eight.

Thanks, hope there is not more of a cover up.

Why aren’t there any official markings on those vehicles?

Police cars don't need to be marked.

Where were the verbal commands in advance of shooting?

The news tonight had a video shot by someone in Finicum's car. In it you can hear the police ordering to get down on the ground. He refused to.

That was set up to be a blood bath, right down to the blind-curve road block. Good luck getting a jury to convict, particularly in NV.

It's been ruled a justifiable shooting. There will be no trial and no jury.

As was established at WACO and Ruby Ridge, this is decidedly not an elite team unless they are considered Elite murderers. Whatever good they may have done in the past is wiped out by their murder of innocent American citizens. Absolutely no excuse, Someone is not in command.

Loyalty to incompetent law enforcement is not loyalty to the law. It is loyalty to incompetence.

I had a judge tell me one time I had no respect for "authority".

I told him I had plenty of respect for authority. But I had none for him or his proceedings.

You are way too smart for me.

The jury I am referring to is the one that will be hearing the case for the other passengers charged, as well as the Bundy Ranch stand off arrests.

You know, cops are losing the support of reasonable and law abiding people in droves. They knew exactly where he was going, (to see the Sheriff.) They wanted the blood, so they spilled it.

Glad you’re OK with that sport.

I expect there will be convictions coming from those as well.

Where have you been? The police have been shooting people for years and getting away with it. Twelve year old boys in Ohio. Young men in Ohio, New York, California, Utah, Nevada, all over. It's been open season on civilians for some time now, and it's only because everyone has a videocam on them now that it's coming to light.

Finicum's death, while tragic, is not surprising. Fleeing police, armed, refused to obey orders, dared police to shoot him, and made a move towards a pistol in his coat. Police have killed a whole lot of people for a whole lot less and gotten away with it.

Glad you’re OK with that sport.

I'm not OK with any of it. But for most of them I'm crying in the wilderness.

Anyone who believes these police allegations and planting a gun and the lies need to see a mental doctor. Here we have Vince Foster’s gun and hand without any blood stains all over again!

Number of shots they claim doesn’t match the shooting you hear inside the van!!

ALL total BS and cold blooded murder and setup. Reaching down the left side was where the guy at the road side shot and hit him first time. Nice staged, VERY nice!!!

What was that guy out in woods doing there before the van weird off the road to prevent a frontal collision of the TRAP, the road block. WHY were two road bocks necessary if not for planned killing. Makes no sense???

... and made a move towards a pistol in his coat.

Still looking for evidence of that. Where's the pistol? Or was it a wound from the guy behind him that he reached for?

I haven't seen any proof that that is true.

They had already put at least four rounds into the truck as it came around the curve, before it ever left the roadway. I haven't had a chance to watch it more than twice so far, but it seems to me that they fired at least one round at him as he exited the truck. How did he respond to those five or so rounds? He stuck his hands high in the air and waded through deep snow out into the open into a police crossfire. Was he running his mouth? Yeah. Is that justification for shooting him? No.

I had read at one point - I don't know if it's true - that the 9 mm that was allegedly in his pocket was a stolen gun. That sounds mighty fishy. If you were someone like him, involved in this protest with federal agents and state cops all over the place, would you be toting a stolen weapon? I seriously doubt it.

I’m perplexed as to why this story was put into “chat.”

It’s pretty big news, and this is a media source.

Doesn’t make much sense to me.

Police said a 9mm pistol was in his coat pocket. Why he moved his hand doesn't really matter. Police took it for a move towards his pistol and they shot him.

That's what police said.

He was fleeing a police roadblock. He was known to be armed. He refused police orders to get on the ground. He moved his hand in a manner which could indicate he was going for a gun. As I have said before police have shot people for a whole lot less and gotten away with it.

I know a guy that shoots with staters. 3-round burst is an option they have. I’m sure full-auto is available. Maybe not in every car, every day, but this was coverage of a “seige.” They have the toys; you know they’re gonna bring ‘em.
