Former Trump U salesman in new ad: 'I couldn't sleep at night'
Politico ^ | 3/10/16 | Alex Isenstadt

Anti-Donald Trump forces are expanding their offensive against the Republican front-runner, releasing a TV advertisement in Florida just days before the state's primary that spotlights a former Trump University salesman who says he was "ashamed" to work for the online school.

In the 60-second ad, the employee, named Cliff, describes receiving "nonstop calls with complaints" from customers unhappy with Trump University services. He also talks about the school's low ratings from the Better Business Bureau.

"I think I walked away from the job because I couldn't sleep at night," Cliff says. "With Donald Trump, you always have to read the fine print."

The commercial is being aired by American Future Fund, an outside conservative group that, along with several others, has been pummeling Trump on the TV airwaves. The group will spend more than $1 million for airtime. Trump University has become a focal point of attacks against the businessman, with Marco Rubio and other rivals citing it as evidence that Trump is a "con man."

Outside groups have spent more than $10 million against Trump in Florida, a key state voting on Tuesday that awards its 99 delegates on a winner-take-all basis.

Trump operated within the licensing required by the state he operated in.

When the state changed it’s requirements, Trump changed the name of his business to comply with it’s requirements.

Another words, Trump complied with the law. You have a problem with that?

Let me guess... your wife enrolls in the University of Make-up, some small beauty training outlet that prepares here to get a state license to work in a beauty salon.

Are you functioning under the assumption it’s a real university?

I’m beginning to see why some folks back Cruz.

Best thing about Trump running for POTUS is that more and more people are finding out what a fraud he is.

So, you acknowledge that you have to do something else if you get a history degree...a teaching certificate for example.

You also must do something else with real estate classes. YOU must sell. That’s up to you.

People say a lot of things.

Trump’s people had to be bad.

All plaintiffs had to be good.

Oui...

AGs say a lot of things too. Since the 1980s they have been saying the Clinton’s were fine upstanding citizens.

Very impressive as a litigator. No argument. But he's never lead anything. He's never had a real job. And he's never signed the bottom of a paycheck. Speaking as a small business owner/entrepreneur, that is very important.

I sure as hell wouldn't go to court and represent myself and I'm sure Trump doesn't either.

Cruz for SCOTUS any day of the week. Not for POTUS.

"Trump University instructors also asked that students complete evaluations in order to receive their Certificates of Competition for the course and 'pleaded for a favorable rating so that 'Mr. Trump would invite [them] back to do other retreats.' Mentors compelled students to complete the non-anonymous evaluations in their presence, filled out the forms themselves or pressured students into giving them higher scores or completing the evaluations before they had an opportunity to see if Trump University's promises would be fulfilled."

Over the last 30 years or so I’ve been working in the business world, in accounting and PR and HR, I’ve gone to a lot of business seminars and or training classes (Fred Pryor, SkillPath, ADP, Oracle and seminars through the local Chambers of Commerce to name just a few examples), often paid for by my employer, but never, ever have I been ever asked to complete or turn in an evaluation non-anonymously or before the class was even complete nor in anyway was I ever pressured to turn in a positive evaluation as a condition for getting my CME credit or a certificate of completion, or as a condition for signing up for further seminars or classes.

Did the “instructors” ask for a positive evaluation? Sure they did. But allowing me to complete the evaluation anonymously, often on-line after I returned to my office, allowed me to submit a subjective review of the instructor and of the course materials. I was sometimes told that the overall ratings and scores and some comments may be shared with the instructor, but that it would be done so anonymously. But I never had to sign my name to any evaluation in writing or in front of the instructor or turn in an evaluation in writing to the instructor with my name on it, and if I had been asked to, I would have refused.

Any company providing seminars and or training classes who is truly interested in getting honest feedback in order to improve the course or course materials and to evaluate the instructors would do the same.

Let me put it this way. Suppose that a family member came to you and said, “Xzins, I really want to become a real estate investor, and I think that the best way for me to pursue this goal is to enroll in the $35,000 deluxe program at Trump University, will you loan me the money?” You in?

Did you read the eval forms? Many checked that they were satisfied but also included less-than-complimentary comments. I randomly sampled from three of the links. Suggest you do the same.

“Let me guess... your wife enrolls in the University of Make-up . . .”

Is that a real University where you live?

The reason I ask: it sounds like something you made up to justify Trump's scheme.

Trump u made promises to its students that weren’t implemented. That is scamming them.

Trump shouldve behaved more ethically since he had presidential ambitions...trump must’ve been a dem then as they’re experts in scams

And yet 98% of the people taking the course signed forms which stated they thought the courses were great.

And it has already been documented that those forms were not anonymous, and they had to fill them out with the instructors present even before the course was completed. Many of the people that gave the course high marks were afraid to give negative comments because they thought they would not get the good leads or other assistance they had been promised.

Of course, a lot of the people that gave it high marks at the time later changed their minds once it became apparent that the support and help they had been promised never materialized.

That "98% satisfaction" number is just as phony as the "A" rating Trump was touting or the statement that the instructors were "hand-picked" by Trump.

It is a name I made up.

Who in their right mind would attend a real estate seminar and think they were attending an actual University?

That’s downright comical. Now we have folks on our forum trying to lay this off on Trump as if he misled people.

Yeah, I’m sure Trump was promising them a Ivy League type of education there.

Folks, this is infantile.

As has been the case with every issue since last June, some folks judge Trump a vile man in every instance, and anyone saying something negative about him to be saints from on high.

Every situation, the worst is judged against Trump. If someone says something negative, they are instantly given credence. If anyone says something defending Trump, they are immediately thought of as deeply flawed, a low information person.

If you want to believe everyone that says negative things about Trump, go ahead.

I figure it will all come out in court.

So what you are saying is that some infantile people heard Trump say give me $35,000 and attend Trump University and thought it was an actual university?

What do you think of people who believe Trump when he says give me your vote and I will build an actual wall?

The initial classes were about $1300, iirc.

So, yes, I would consider loaning that to someone.

Then I would want to see results in their sales ability.

If I (or they) didn’t see results, I’d probably conclude they weren’t really cut out to be a salesman.

I would think it certainly made more sense than listening to a man say he was a Washington outsider who was meeting with Jeb, Neal Bush, and Rubio.

Ted is more than qualified to be POTUS. WAY more than any of the other candidates. He has a consistent record that supports his knowledge, experience and ability to do the #1 job a President is supposed to do, and that is as the head of the executive branch of the federal government, to ensure that all the nation’s laws are “faithfully executed.” And knowing the constitution as he does, and upholding and fighting for it, as he has, consistently, gives him the upper hand on being qualified.

Here is more of his record and experience, and yes, he has created jobs. Maybe not working FOR him, but he has helped create private sector jobs.

Ted Cruz loved the Constitution and debating since high school. He spent a lot of time on debating teams and actually made small amounts of money speaking at places like the VFW and American Legion which he saved an applied to college.

Ted Cruz worked his way through college; Princeton and Harvard and specialized in constitutional law. He finished at the top of his class, was considered one of the most brilliant students and as such, was selected to clerk for the Chief Justice William Rehnquist of the Supreme Court. This is an honor that only goes to the very best and brightest and immerse you in constitutional law.

After Cruz finished his clerkships, he took a position with Cooper, Carvin & Rosenthal, now known as Cooper & Kirk, LLC, from 1997 to 1998. While with the firm, Cruz worked on matters relating to the National Rifle Association, and helped prepare testimony for the impeachment proceedings against President Bill Clinton.
Cruz joined the George W. Bush presidential campaign in 1999 as a domestic policy adviser, advising then-Governor George W. Bush on a wide range of policy and legal matters, including civil justice, criminal justice, constitutional law, immigration, and government reform. In other words, in private practice and working for George Bush, Ted Cruz was no ordinary lawyer. He was immersed in the policies and values we hold dear today.

Where it gets really good
After working for George Bush, he was appointed to work at the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) as director of policy planning. In that role, he cut through the red tape and regulations to help create tens of thousands of jobs. Ted Cruz knew if you de-regulate, you unchain business and growth occurs. You can read about that role at this link – Ted Cruz at the FTC.

While working at the FTC, he was asked to become the Solicitor General of Texas by Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott. The office had been established in 1999 to handle appeals involving the state, but Abbott hired Cruz with the idea that Cruz would take a “leadership role in the United States in articulating a vision of strict constructionism.”

As Solicitor General, Cruz argued before the Supreme Court of the United States nine times.
Ted fought before the supreme court for our “right to keep and bear arms” in the most famous gun rights case to date; District of Columbia v Heller. In addition to his success in Heller, Cruz successfully defended the constitutionality of the Ten Commandments monument on the Texas State Capitol grounds before the U.S. Supreme Court, winning 5–4.

Ted fought before the supreme court in the famous Medellin v. Texas case where he battled the UN, World Court, 90 countries and even George W. Bush to defend American sovereignty and won. Anyone that thinks Ted favors the NWO or world dominion better look at this because nothing could be further than from the truth. Ted feels that no country and certainly not the U.N. can tell the United States what to do. All power is vested in our own government of the people and the constitution.

When Ted Cruz decide to run for the Senate, he was going up against the incumbent democrat who had deep pockets. When he told his party and looked for support, they told him “wait your turn” because they had already picked out a RINO for the job. Ted went against the and went “grass roots to the people” winning the election by a landslide.

In the Senate, Ted has fought time and time again to protect our rights and fight the left. In many cases, he has had to fight his own party as well when they so easily give in and cut deals. He is not considered an insider in any way, shape or form. He has called for border security, a wall, deportation and fought amnesty since before 2012.

That slimy pos of garbage is never going to go away and take his bought and paid for toadies with him.

To the dude in the ad - cry me a river, sounds like a dimwitted fool. Read a contract? Huh?? And people believe this nonsense - great job Romney - now get working on your ads for Cruz, the outsiders insider.
