EVERYTHING started against Trump after his comments on foreigners. Death threats by multiple sources, and attacks at rallies. They aren’t going after the other GOP candidates.

It is slanderous to claim, as Trump hacks have, that Ted Cruz sided with the hard Left protesters.

Trump hacks don't care about reason, or issues, or consistency, or ethanol subsidies, or NSA Bulk data collection, or Eminent Domain transfer to private company abuses, or the encouraging of violent behavior by their Dear Leader.

Thanks for posting this article.

I am deeply ashamed and angered to see Ted Cruz throw his support behind BLM and Bill Ayers.

Stupidity like ^^ this ^^ can't even be measured. It's infinite.

What a crazy logic people are using against Ted Cruz!

Much of the "crazy logic" being used against Cruz is coming from his own supporters. Maybe it's not so crazy after all.

Did many, many thoughtful Ted Cruz supporters suddenly become the dupes of Trump? I doubt it.

The sad fact is that what Ted Cruz said was weak, had misplaced emphasis, and showed a distinct lack of leadership. It made him appear like a naked opportunist, and not for the first time.

If Ted Cruz wants to conflate a couple of isolated incidents at Trump rallies with the organized, criminal, Left-wing efforts to stifle the Peoples' Right to Peaceably Assemble, then he's going to have to deal with the fallout from his own supporters.

So I guess Cruz's strategy should be to tell his supporters who have taken exception that he didn't mean what he said, or that they have misunderstood something.

Ted Cruz is a lawyer who knows how to speak precisely. What he said was misguided. Plainly and simply, he knew exactly what he was doing. And He f----d up.

The only proper response to such organized thuggery would have been for the entire GOP field of candidates to stand in staunch solidarity, and to fiercely repudiate the lawlessness on display from the disruptive Left seeking to infringe on First Amendment Rights.

Instead, all 3 of the trailing candidates, acting typically, tried to make political hay out of it, and it has backfired immensely.

Once again, to reiterate: Ted Cruz is facing blowback from scads of his own supporters, and rightfully so.

That post is unworthy of reply except to remark that it is becoming more and more typical of Trump supporters' reasoning processes.

What reasoning process? I see no evidence of any such process.

I agree, Ted showed fathomless stupidity by agreeing with BLM and Bill Ayers, that Donald Trump and his supporters deserved violent disruption by organized leftist gangs.

True! They will probably stick in Kasich as the ‘compromise’ candidate.

So you continue to engage in, and even double-down on, the lying. Got it.

Here’s a clue. If you have to lie to further your candidate, he’s not worthy of winning....

and neither are you.

Blaming the victims for the crime is certainly an unusual position coming from one who has served in a United States Attorney’s Office in very significant jurisdiction. It is curious how the need to justify Cruz’ comments affects people who are ordinarily much more fact-based and lucid.

Rafael Eduardo Cruz has shown his true colors again this morning on the news outlets crying about violence Trump has engendered and he is with the left in supporting the attempt to silence Trump and his supporters. The man is a TOTAL FRAUD.

And Benghazi was because of a video ....

Do you honestly believe it was the type rhetoric you are using here, or the fact that Trump is insistent on building a wall and doing better vetting before letting Muslims in ?

For any low-information voters who may care to hear/read some facts for a change, try the following though I'm sure facts are irrelevant.

"Partial transcript as follows:

STEPHANOPOULOS: We’ve seen these extraordinary scenes at the Trump rallies. And — and you’ve said that the Trump campaign affirmatively encourages the violence. So to be clear, you believe Mr. Trump is encouraging this violence?

CRUZ: Well, let’s be clear. First of all, the protesters were in the wrong. When you come up and — and you use violence, you engage in violence, you threaten violence, and when you try to shut — shut down and shout down speech, that — that’s not what the First Amendment allows. The First Amendment gives every one of us the right to speak, but not to disrupt others. Uh, but — but I think, also, in any campaign, the responsibility starts at the top. And — and it is not beneficial when you have a candidate like — like Donald Trump, who’s telling his protesters, punch that guy in the face. You know, I mean I don’t think you should be encouraging people to violence.

And — and I think beyond that, you know, we need a — a candidate who respects the people, who engages even — who even engages the protesters with civility and respect, not with hostility. I — I think — you know, what I would appeal to for every candidate is — is decency and civility, that we can disagree and we can disagree forcefully while still respecting each other and — and not engaging in insults and vulgarity and — and not encouraging — encouraging violence.'

Cruz supporter here but will vote for Trump if he is the nominee.

”So if you see somebody getting ready to throw a tomato, knock the crap out of ‘em, would you? Seriously. Okay? Just knock the hell — I promise you, I will pay for the legal fees. I promise. I promise”;

The people that are afraid of this type of talk are they people that have destroyed our Country. They are wimps and cowards. This Country became great because America DID KNOCK THE CRAP OUT OF ‘EM.

WE KNOCKED THE CRAP OUT OF THE BRITISH ARMY, WHEN WE HAD NONE.
WE KNOCKED THE CRAP OUT OF THE JAPANESE AND GERMANSY AFTER WE WERE ATTACKED
WE KNOCKED THE CRAP OUT OF THE PARK.....WHEN IN TEN YEARS WE DECIDED AND DID.......PUT AMERICAN MEN ON THE MOON AND BRING THEM BACK SAFELY.

Rubio and Kasick are cowardly, but Cruz is much worse....claiming Courageous Conservatism but turning on fellow American Conservatives and blaming them for fighting back.....again and again and again.
Cruz and his race to the bottom.

Chainmail...Sir.....I just wanted to know if you have ever seen a Presidential Republican Primary this mind blowing? I just can’t believe the transformation of Cruz. Rubio and Kasick I could expect....but Cruz going and continuing to go against people who are attacked by scum?

You have been around longer than I, my politics go only back to 1967. I ask you because there are many fine supporters of Cruz, and some not so fine a I too WAS one also....how do we communicate the importance of FIGHTING FOR AMERICA....LITERALLY FIGHTING....because to my amazement I am finding IN THIS FORUM, an aversion to fighting, even any mention whatsoever of violence regardless of the situation..
..after all this Country was not born from throwing flowers.

His condoning and inciting of violence occurred long before this demonstration
///////////////////
I respect your support of Cruz but....

I say it is long overdue and about time that we have someone on the “Right” side condoning and inciting violence IN SELF DEFENSE when WE HAVE BEEN THE VICTIMS OF VIOLENCE FOR DECADES. OUR CHEEKS ARE BROKEN FROM TURNING THEM SO LONG, and it is high time we whip and drive the animals out.

Our people are fighting back, fist against fist and the left is very afraid. They have enjoyed for decades the enormous advantage of physical assault with no repercussions. And now you want us to go back to that jail, that straitjacket, to put our handcuffs back on? No.

Trump has given millions of Americans back their freedom to fight back against physical violence and the left wing regressives are seeing OUR Pandora’s box open and are frightened beyond belief. Sure Cruz started out with Courageous Conservatism as his motto and Trump started as a Richer Romney, but Romney was no fighter and as we can see neither is Cruz.
Trump, on the other hand, is.
