In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
Blarney
Noun
2. Deceptive nonsense.
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

PopeFrank...not PopeBlarney...nothing sweettalking about him...I never heard a more judgmental man. .....A++++
My wife was freaking and nearly turned around to go back down.
looks TERRIFYING!
pic is creepy as he!!
It’s been a day since village elections and I can’t believe what I am seeing. It’s like all the bigwigs thought the other side had this election and they act like the DC insiders. Clueless. We have not had an audit sine 2012 due to incomplete record keeping. They collect tax dollars and don’t even know where the money is or went, yet we should keep electing them? Clueless. The establishment take is we won’t be happy with the new mayor because he will be tough. Um, the last one is pretty lax and we didn’t like it. I think we will be fine.
I felt a shiver when I first saw it. LOL
Funny.
The national media is now getting massive criticism for “not stopping” Trump - When they have run thousands of articles and hundreds and hundreds of interviews to every politicians they can get to sit still for ten seconds blarneying and braying trump is a racist, bigoted, homophobic capitalistic white man pig!
Thank you. It’s especially welcome news since he’s the oldest of 5, although he had many other scholarship offers. Does anyone know if he has to register to vote in CO, or if (like other members of the military) he can keep his registration in SC?
Not Fox news, they have been up Trump’s butt sideways, despite him being all of that.
I did not kiss the Blarney Stone in Blarney — I went shopping at their Mall. In fact that was the the last stop where I bought gifts and souveniers because on our bus ride to Waterford (from Blarney) we received the horrible news of 9/11. The rest of our trip was comprised of watching TV at every stop and wondering if we were going to get back home since all flights had been grounded.
Fred & Blarney would like to wish everyone a Happy St. Paddy's Day!
My uncle kissed up while touring Ireland.
I’ve been on old, worn out and embedded worn-down stairwells like that in castles and monasteries in Spain: One person at a time, sometimes it seems easier to use and feet rather than stepping upright.
Surprising very, very few castles and monasteries across north France: Almost all were torn down between the 1780’s rebellions, Napoleons time, the 1820’s rebellions and fighting, and the 1840’s wars, and then the 1870’s anti-religious rebellions.
You're probably fortunate that you didn't smooch the stone. Interesting factoid;
That section of stone with the sheer drop down the side of the tower is where the night guards used to relieve themselves during a long watch.
Probably of no concern these days but...who knows?
I found this out AFTER I'd done the deed.
Happy St. Patrick’s day...
Politics is down the rabbit hole
Just listen to all of the blarney
In their own way every candidate
Is barking like a sideshow carney
Trump and Cruz excite the crowds
Kasich has his head in the sand
Believing himself still relevant
While Bernie stays in Lala land
Promising to give us free stuff
He’s happy in his socialist fog-
Hillary drones in a boring voice
Unless she just barks like a dog...
My apologies to all dogs-none are as annoying as Hillary...
It is cloudy and 73, but there is rain and a cold front on the way tomorrow-nights back into the low 40’s predicted-some of the trees are starting to blossom in the woods-buckeyes and redbud-pretty pink flowers all along the trail.
The one living branch of that pear tree on the property is covered with white flowers-it really adds to the desolate and forgotten feel of this place-if I were good at that sort of thing, I would make a painting of the tree with the one branch covered with flowers, surrounded by the scattered and broken yard statues in the grass under the gray sky-I think it would be a nice, brooding painting...
It’s an old country. Everywhere is somewhere people used to pee.
I’ve wondered how many closets, bathrooms, small dens/parlors, etc in all those castles still lived in are remodeled/re-purposed 500 to 1000 year old garderobes...
