My niece is in Boston. Is this for real?

Yes though forecasts all over the place. Some said 12-18", some more like 4 to 8, some an inch or so. Graphic below says 6-12 inches. I think Frankie MacDonald said something about 30 cm "which is about 12 inches"...

I’d be worried more about the melting afterwards with the warmer weather to follow...flooding

>>”The best setup for a nor’easter with heavy snow and wind will be in New England,” AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Bernie Rayno said. Many areas in southeastern New England will receive a moderate to heavy snow fall, on the order of 6 inches or perhaps more, which spans Sundaya night into Monday morning. Locally heavy snow is possible on central and eastern Long Island as well. How much snow falls will depend on how strong the storm becomes. The Monday morning commute could be quite wintry in much of New England.

I remember one time a storm hit Mar 31 into Apr 1 here in Boston area—close to 2 feet of snow. Many ballgames postpones in northeast, etc.; but the snow melted fairly quickly. We have had very little snow this year; last year it was about 107”; this year maybe 25” so far per season. Usual is about 42” per season.

I heard we’re only getting 2-3 inches. It will be gone in a couple of days.
