In perfect tabloid fashion one can expect this time in a contentious election cycle (remember Herman Cain), supermarket tabloid The National Enquirer decided to fabricate a sex scandal about Ted Cruz that could be the plot for a sequel to Eyes Wide Shut if it weren't so unbelievable.

The only thing I guess we can rely on is that if this story does indeed have legs, it will out - with or without censorship here. The world out there, and that includes all the petty journalists, won’t allow themselves to be ‘scooped’ without a fight for some kind of me-too honorable mention.

That adds nothing to the story. "From what I know" is no different than "from what I've heard".
If he "knows", then he can just tell us how he knows. It's a very big story if true, so if Drew Johnson at the Washington Times actually had any evidence of anything he wouldn't pass up the opportunity to run a story about it. The lack of evidence however would prevent that.
Even with Twitter suppressing the hashtag and keeping it off the top of the trending list it is a posting frenzy at #CruzSexScandal

but interestingly enough, not by Cruz. Could such a denial expose him to legal jeopardy ? Why was 500k transferred from a Cruz PAC to a Fiorina PAc (one of five alleged women works in Fiorina campaign). Coincidence ? Perhaps; where is the Cruz denial and lawsuit for defamation of character. NE nailed John Edwards to the wall; the FBI became involved; he was indicted, facing prison; escaped with sympathetic jurors in mistrial and decision by DOJ not to retry the case. Do you think would be that lucky, after all his campaign sermons, were the allegations true and he compounded it by doing something illegal ?
