My new cats were freaking out. In carriers in the back seat of the car, they yowled their displeasure. I reassured them: Dont worry boys, well be home soon.
Whoops! I had called them boys, when in fact they were girls. An understandable mistake, as Ive had cats for about 50 years, and all of them have been male. Im going to have to work on using the right pronouns, I thought. And then another thought: Why? Theyre cats.

Crazy might be contagious.
Um, because you had their goodies removed?
Made me chuckle!
I had to keep reading because I was almost certain it was satire, mocking the ‘gender neutral pronoun’ brain disease.
To think there is a person who has a job with this sort of mindset and would write an entire article on something so profoundly ridiculous completely baffles and cuts to the core of me.
But I will bet they never use it at the same time.
I used to know a lady who swore her female cat would only use Kitty Queen brand litter, and the male would only use Jonny Cat.
I have a better idea for this crazy cat lady: why not use the “it” pronoun? Many people do for animals.
Oh wait — that’s specie-ism. We’re not supposed to consider animals as lower than human beings.
Actually, if we do consider cats as humans, I can report Ms. Crackpot to Child Protection Services. Nutty people should not be left in care of living creatures.
BTW, the comments on that webpage are hilarious. I wonder how this woman (sorry, person) even got hired.
LOL!
I don’t know if this article was ‘social opinion engineering’ disguised, or not; but it hit home with me.
We have two little black-and-whites, from the local rescue; and they’re brothers.
But one of them is SO MUCH LIKE our previous B/W cat, a female, that I’m always calling ‘Jimmy’ “SHE”, and even calling him by that cat’s name.
Drives my husband crazy, but I can’t get out of it. Cat even has a lot of “female” behaviors, like being the one which majorly cries for food.
We’ve just decided that Jimmy is our previous female cat reincarnated, and hasn’t got his/her new gender identity straight, yet ;-)
Fortunately, cats don’t do pronouns. Cats just BE.

What could go wrong, right?
DANG!
She works at the Compost, so I guess she blends right in.
Jesus, please come. We need your terrible sword and the holy destruction you will bring.
The only cat here is a mountain lion who drops in occasionally. We are extremely respectful whether it’s a him or a her, so I suppose that counts as gender-neutrality.
:-)
Until your male cat develops a urinary tract infection.
