With all due respect to Mr. Springsteen, he is evidently another low-information citizen who doesn’t understand that the states have never amended the Constitution to expressly protect so-called LGBT rights.
In fact, the only sex-related protection that the states have amended the Constitution to expressly protect is voting rights as evidenced by the 19th Amendment. And bathroom access issues are clearly not related to voting rights.
So 10th Amendment-protected state power to discriminate on the basis of sex outside the scope of voting rights is constitutionally unchecked, legal NC voters ultimately having the final say in NC.
