ABC News ^ | Matt Volz, AP

The former Navy SEAL who says he fired the shots that killed Osama bin Laden was arrested Friday on a drunken driving charge after police found him asleep in a car parked at a convenience store in his Montana hometown.

Customers at the store in Butte called police to report a sleeping man behind the wheel of the running car around 2:30 a.m., Butte-Silver Bow County Undersheriff George Skuletich said. The officer who responded woke the man up, identified him as Robert O'Neill and noticed odd behavior.

"He was confused. His actions were consistent with somebody who might be under the influence of something," Skuletich said.

Well that is mighty odd - I personally heard Obama Hussein tell us all on live TV that HE killed Osama.

It’s all about the money and they don’t care who you are the fact that he was parked and sleeping it off doesn’t matter to them it’s about the money

Right, but legally if he was drunk and the engine was running, even if it was to keep him warm, he could have a problem.

Back when I was a law student in the 1970s, I saw a case where four kids were sitting in a parked car passing around a joint. It was wintertime, and they had the engine running to keep the heater on. The kid sitting in the driver's seat was charged with "operating a motor vehicle under the influence of narcotics"; the other three were charged with simple possession.

If the vehicle was running, keys in the ignition NOT running, or keys in his pocket NOT running and he was drunk or high in the vehicle, he can be charged with DUI. Jes’ the way it is.

The question was how could he be charged with DUI, a question of law.

Guy that kills UBL comes home and has a rough nigh, tries to sleep it off in his car and gets a DUI.

And yet this a**hole kills a woman under the influence and was hailed as the "Lion of the Senate."

If you can get to the keys nowadays thanks to never ending crusaders like MADD a trying to stay relevant

You get charged

You can hang them in your treehouse above the car

You have access

It’s nuts

Only place you can quote sleep it off is a house or motel

Reminds me of the Ron White bit. He was in a bar and dragged out by the cops and arrested for being drunk in public. He said “I was in a bar. You guys pulled me out here in the public.”

But the funniest line was “I didn’t know how many cops it was going to take to whip my ass. But I knew how many they were going to use.”

Funny how we all accept this. I was born in a time when drunk drivers could run over pets and get away with it. I wonder if we were much more right than wrong. (And I was the pet owner as a child.)

The trial can go one way or another...guilty if a liberal and insane prosecutor is involved; innocent if a conservative and sane prosecutor is involved for lack of evidence

Maybe something is eating him up inside? Anyone read that book “No easy day” by Seal team 6 member Matt Bissonette? He says the guy they shot did NOT look like OBL. Where is the proof? Anybody ever see one scintilla of proof that OBL is dead? Any photos? I don’t trust this Islamic agent posing as our POTUS and his caliphate posing as an administration one single solitary bit. I think he lied to these Seal members, they were set up with killing a imposter and those who DID know the truth were later murdered.
