Many of our (distinctly un-diverse) elite political and media classes simply refuse to acknowledge the truth. Any undesirable behaviours are attributed to poverty and alienation. Backing for violent extremism must be the fault of the Americans. Oppression of women is a cultural trait that will fade with time, nothing to do with the true face of Islam.”
“Even when confronted with the growing pile of evidence to the contrary, and the angst of the liberal minority of British Muslims, clever, important people still cling to the patronising certainty that British Muslims will, over time, come to see that “our” ways are better.”

Like The Borg, Islam does not assimilate into the regions it colonizes - The Borg are the ones who assimilate others into itself. It is interesting, that the symbol for The Borg immediately brings to mind the central insignia on the flag of Iran, a stylized version of the word for “Allah” in Arabic.
Iranians are NOT Arabic (something that has to do with the continuing antipathy between Arabic Sunni and Iranian Shi’ite), so they do take liberties with the Arabic alphabet, leading to all kinds of strife.
“Islamophobia” is not in any way confined only to the non-Muslim world. Muslims have totally irrational fears of other Muslims, and act on it daily. And it is supposed to all be Islam.

That pretty much is the mindset of American liberals. I met a fellow from San Francisco, a Jew, and a nice guy, but he said if the Israelis had made the effort, back in 1948 and earlier to sit down and “talk” to the Arabs things would have been different. So there is really this belief that we simply haven’t made an attempt to reason with the fanatics.

Showing my age I suspect...Local CAPO’S daughter same age / school in small suburb where I grew up, so, ‘girls didn’t fight, Drugs Were Absent, one advantage, I guess, of having her in the local public school.....Fathers do protect !!
