One thing that amazes me (and he did this for Thomas) is that Jesus obviously healed the rest of his wounds (the whip marks, etc.), and could have easily healed up the holes in the hands, but kept them for Thomas to secure his belief. Such love. Amazing.
Yes indeed. What an awesome God we serve!
My question has always been: if the Shroud is a fake how did the people know about negative images?
Jesus said we have to have faith. Yet “relics” are tools used to “prove” His power?
It seems like the kind of logic that makes those with average awareness say, “Huh?”
I have faith. The message makes sense to me without props. But to each his own.
Misleading headline. Even if the shroud is authentic, which it probably is not, it could never be authenticated.
Men did not wear long hair during that time.
I Cor. 11:14 — Does not nature itself teach you that if a man wears long hair it is a disgrace for him...
Those with faith need no explanation, and for those with no faith, no explanation is possible. ~ Saint Thomas Aquinas.
Does the shroud blood sample contain the Jewish DNA markers?
I'd love to read more about this. Is he the one who discovered the "reweaving" of the tested patches, or did he debunk the carbon-14 testing some other way?
Better yet ... If the Shroud is a fake, why can't anyone -- even in this age of modern, advanced technology -- replicate it?
Why would it? The features were clearly based on a Caucasian model; medieval relic makers wouldn't have dreamed of making Jesus look like an Jew.
How long is "long"? That is a very relative term.
Had to go through the whole article to find the important part:
... Miñarro stops short of linking the two cloths to Jesus,...
What is with the eyes and pupils being visible? Leans me towards a painting.
Jesus should have been from the tribe of Judah (as a descendant of David). So the widely-known Levite line wouldn't be a help. But there are other Jewish markers that could be used.
The image was created through dehydration of the topmost fibrils in the shroud. There is no pigment in the image areas. So how do you paint without paint?
I understand your point...
Seems easy enough to test a sample and refine whether it was Jewish blood.
If Jewish, it is still possibly authentic. If not, it’s clearly fake.

By the way, I find it amusing that the coin types (which have letters from the coins recorded in the image) are called ...leptons.
