Trump recently tweeted, Nobody has more respect for women than Donald Trump! This is hard to believe. More than 3 million people have seen the anti-Trump ad in which women repeat real quotes about women from Donald Trump, such as bimbo and fat pig. Trump described Megyn Kelly as having blood coming out of her wherever and mocked Carly Fiorinas appearance by saying, Look at that face. He tweeted a picture of Melania Trump next to Heidi Cruz, as if potential first ladies are contestants in a Miss Universe pageant. And when asked whether women should be punished in the event that abortion became illegal, he suggested that they should be.
Women arent amused. Seven out of ten women (67 percent) have an unfavorable view of Trump, and only 26 percent view him favorably, according to a national Quinnipiac survey from late March. Other polls have his unfavorability ratings among women even higher, at 74 percent.
Cruz has capitalized on Trumps missteps by not making similar misogynist gaffes (admittedly, this is a low bar). He also recently hosted an event The Celebration of Strong Women in Madison, Wis., featuring his wife, his mother, and none other than former competitor Carly Fiorina. All issues are womens issues, said Cruz, in one of his most humanizing events of the campaign.
This is a very encouraging development, but Cruz too has a steep hill to climb with women voters. Three in ten women surveyed had a favorable view of Cruz (29 percent) and nearly half had an unfavorable view of him (46 percent), according to the same Quinnipiac survey from late March.
Not that the GOPs leading candidates do particularly well with male voters.

What can one say in the face of such purity of spirit? LOL.
If the choices were between Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, women are going to go for Trump I’m pretty sure.
He stands a much better chance of growing the economy, and a rising tide floats all boats. Taxes get reduced when the economy does better, and women like things like that.
What do you get with Cruz? A guy with a real talent for pursuing to the nth degree the letter of the law while utterly ignoring its spirit. You also get incoherent claptrap, and lots of it. These are not appealing things for female voters.
Everybody dislikes Ted Cruz. After next week Cruz will have won only 2 of the biggest twenty states while Trump will have 13 of them.
No. It’s a Catmom quote.
TRUMP !!!
McConnell's not running, and Boehner's left the scene. Ryan says he's not, but...
Or maybe he could bring out two here, three there, and then, when he is up against the hildebeeste, put them all on the stage, and have the more articulate among them give him some real kudos from the podium. I think that would play well.
Anyway, my wife is all in for Trump; but of course, she is not driven by the usual emotional sensibilities; she is like me in hoping that Trump is the only person who can 1) get elected, and 2) tell the ruling class dastards to go play with themselves.
The Trump fanboys all thought it was so much fun when he was ripping into Megyn Kelley ,Carly Fiorina, Hiedi Cruz....you guys all cheered him on with bully boy threads insulting woman’s looks. It was never funny it was weird and sick.
I go away for a few weeks and find the same anti Trump caravan is still rolling along.
Win or lose, Trump has done well for this nation by exposing the Republicans and (so called) conservatives for what they really are, Democrat lite.
After the primaries I will be changing my party affiliation to Independent (meaning no party).
When I was old enough to vote, I was a Democrat. That party moved to the left so I switched to the Republican party. It has moved to the left, so now I will no longer belong to a “party”.
I no longer call myself a conservative anymore as I can not meet the “purity” standards some conservatives have established.
I have been with FreeRepublic since the “White Water” days, and I have seen some real flame wars, so what is going on today is really nothing that has not occurred before, I am just tired of it more than anything else.
So like most, I will apply my own set of filters for the many Anti or Pro candidate post and figure they are all biased and untruthful and not worth reading.
Good luck all in your flame wars, but remember, like the rioters in the inter cities in the end, all you hurt is yourself (and your candidate).
I don’t think Trump takes campaign advice from NR.
I'm beginning to feel somewhat like that too. Not about Trump but about some posters here at FR.
“True that, But Trumps Achilles heel is definitely his mouth.”
Yes. But, Trump’s mouth also summarily dispatched the GOP anointed Jeb!, Rubio, soon Cruz, and ultimately Hillary (or the Bern).
You see there are positive aspects to a sharp tongue, if it’s backed by truth (low energy Jeb, Lyin Cruz, lil’ Marco) and tempered with intelligence, experience, and common sense.
Mr. Trump did not attack Kelley or Heidi-the-Entitled.
Are you a CruzBOT?
Some women may get offended by things Trump says although they often think the same thing. But like blacks using the “n” words and being offended if others do, women do the same with comments about women.
That doesn’t translated to even dislike of the man to most. That is the media tale. Cruz on the other hand has a creepiness about him that translates to uncomfortable, cringing dislike to many females.
Yeah, I've seen the action of "some posters" here at FR too. And obnoxious, arrogant, misinformed (lying), and dishonest doesn't even begin to cover what I've seen coming from Trump AND from his supporters.
National Review hasn’t gone bankrupt yet? Pity.
I was beginning to lean toward Trump until he posted that vile picture of Heidi Cruz and his wife...
This man posting something a twelve year old would post and he wants to be the leader of the free world ?
I hate any man who likes Hillary. Do we really want to listen to that harsh voice for the next four years? It’s going to be like being married to Marjorie Main! If anyone here is old enough or interested in film history, to know who she is.
