My personal feeling of Trump vs. Cruz (Vanity)
Me | 4/20/2016 | GeorgiaDawg32

Posted on 04/20/2016 3:44:20 PM PDT by GeorgiaDawg32

This is all I'm going to say regarding the Republican race for the nomination in 2016.

I started out supporting Trump, not for his politics, but for the way he was poking a stick in the eye of the GOPe, Democrats, media and everyone else who attacked him.

I called it a breath of fresh air in a world of conformists.

I shied away from him and leaned toward Cruz after Trump just seemed to go off-hook (telecom term) with his rhetoric. I expressly wished he'd calm down the language and become more presidential.

To this day, I lean 60/40 Trump over Cruz. But make no mistake,

I WOULD CRAWL OVER BROKEN GLASS TO VOTE FOR TRUMP OR CRUZ.

Hitlary or Rumplehair need to be stopped, period, end of statement.

I have grandchildren. I want to go out of this world with a hope they will grow up in the United States of America, not the United States of the United Nations, land of free stuff and no toilet paper.

That is all.

If I voted for the winner and he goes back on his word, I have every right in the world to complain.

Agreed. I'm exactly where you are.

Yes, we've had to hold our noses and vote for RINOs in the last few elections. But if Hilary or Bernie is the next president, with their appointments to the Supreme Court and the vast numbers of new illegal immigrants that will come in, our country as we know it will be lost. Republicans will become a footnote in history - the Socialists and Democrats will be the two main parties.

Amen to that. I started out supporting Cruz but I must say Trump makes all the right people’s head explode.

Much as I detest Trump, I despise Hillary more. I will be holding my nose tightly as I cast a vote in November for Trump in order to keep Her Infernal Malevolence out of the White House.

Including China.

It’s amazing. All these people (Chinese and the liberal left) have had their run to the left as far as they can go (with trade and “rights”), then they go lefter.

Along comes someone who will put a halt to everything, and they’re fighting tooth and nail to keep him out (Trump or Cruz).

Catching an amazing amount of flak indicates you’re directly over the target.

I see no way Trump would be worse than any Dem.

Trump is a Dem.

I used to like Cruz but now I detest the creepy weasel. It’s Trump or dump the GOP. If the GOP screws over Trump I’ll write him in or just stay home.

If Trump wasn't in the race, then I think all the delegate shenanigans and dirty tricks would not affect Cruz or any candidate, as even GOP voters would just look upon it as meaningless background noise, with a shoulder-shrugging, well-everyone-does-that attitude.

Same for the whole issue of who contributes to whom - it wouldn't really matter. And while I can see why those who support Trump would cite those issues as a reason for preferring him over Cruz of anyone else in the primary contest, if somehow Cruz gets the nomination, then as long as he demonstrates that he's likely to go along with some of the other core issues that appeal to Trump voters - trade and immigration most of all - then I'd think Trump voters would certainly want Cruz over Hillary. I myself prefer Cruz, but if Trump gets the nod, he has my vote. I think the #NeverTrump or #NeverCruz attitudes are misguided, and hope that both are just a phase that will be forgotten when the primary is over, regardless of who wins (unless it's not Cruz or Trump in which case I'd likely be a #NeverAnyoneElse voter).

I disagree, when Trump wins and there is no wall or deportations, and find out who the real liar was then NO you have no right to complain. You voted it, you own it.
Oh, one more thing, there will be no tariffs and Obamacare may get tweaked but it will still be here and not only that, with all the insurance companies dropping out it will go to single payer too. Bank it all and live with it.

“I’m just not that sure that Trump can actually beat Hillary. It’s hard to believe, but last night, she got more votes than Trump, Cruz and Kasich combined.”

That’d be expected though. NY is almost as deep-blue dem as California. There are vastly more dems than GOPers there.

Yeah true. No Cruz. I agree with you. No lowering ourselves to that creep. Cruz has been abismal to say the least.

It’s not too late for a unity trump/Cruz ticket. July is a lifetime from now in politics. My gosh Iowa was only a little more then 3 months ago and it seems a year.
