ESPN fires analyst and former Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling

BRISTOL, Conn. — ESPN announced that it has fired network analyst and former Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling following his comments on Facebook about transgender people.

In a statement released Wednesday, ESPN said "Curt Schilling has been advised that his conduct was unacceptable and his employment with ESPN has been terminated."

This week, Schilling reposted an image of an overweight man wearing a long blond wig and revealing women's clothing. It included the phrase: "Let him in! To the restroom with your daughter or else you're a narrow minded, judgmental, unloving, racist bigot who needs to die!!!"

Schilling added his own comments, saying, "A man is a man no matter what they call themselves" and "Now you need laws telling us differently? Pathetic."

Schilling was apparently referring to laws in several states that restrict bathroom access to transgender people.

Yeah for Curt Schilling.

Isn’t there a conservative company that could give him a job now?

Or does the left “own” all the companies?

Between this, the whole Missouri football team bruhaha and the Andrew Shaw suspension...I am seriously pondering the notion of never watching sports again.

And yes...I would LOVE for the Blackhawks not to take the ice in protest of this bull$hit.

I haven’t watched television since I refused to get the digital adapter.

That was years ago now.

Best thing I ever did.

If I were president I would kick ABC out of the White House for this since ESPN is part of ABC and I would have the Coast Guard inspecting Disney cruise ships, the FAA inspecting Disney corporate aircraft and the list goes on......

When I go to a women’s bathroom I want to see WOMEN coming out of the stalls, not men wearing dresses

Me too!

Try rugby. It’s not been hijacked and it’s the only real contact sport.
I’ll be at the game on Saturday in Tokyo. (Nonsequitor alert: The Iron Maiden show was awesome last night too.)

“They fired Rush Limbaugh a couple of years back for controversial comments on a black football player.”

The crux of what he said was actually a knock on the MSM, not about Donovan McNabb. In my opinion, that is why he was fired.

Note to ESPN:

You fired Curt Schilling not because of the question he posed on the internet, but because you don’t like how most of us will answer his question. You think you’re being big, but backing his right to his opinion would have been big. You look really small in firing him.

You should stick to sports, it’s the government’s job to tell us how to think.

(I attempted to send them this message but ESPN site wouldn’t let me, said they thought I was a “bot”.)

I’m sure someone will come up with a portable potty that looks like a purse for the parents to use with small children as well as women in general in the dressing rooms in Walmart, etc. We have become a nation gone amuck. Turning back to sanity may be impossible. Oh, wait a minute. . . .have they “addressed” dressing rooms, too? Another thought. Mini porta potties for the cars along with Velcro blinds.

My question to ESPN is why are you okay with placing our children at risk?

The lefties are clever. If you dissent against “tolerance,” then you are “intolerant.”

ESPN has to know that a very large percentage of their core audience agrees with Schilling. They've gone from presenting sports to social indoctrination.

One reason from a very long list why I cut the cable.

Dressing rooms aren’t safe, either.
