Labor Markets: Hundreds of employees at the University of California at Berkeley are getting schooled in basic economics, as the $15 minimum wage just cost them their jobs. Too bad liberal elites “fighting for $15” don’t get it.

now... they need a law to make the minimum wage 100 an hour

then another law that prevents companies from firing people

but since companies are too stupid to understand this, the government should take over companies

then, we should raise the minimum wage to 1,000 rubles an hours

then the world dumps our dollars, so we print more

but we have bigger printing presses, so we print WAY more! This is AMERICA!

so, you make 1,000 rubles an hour but a loaf of bread now costs 1,000,000 rubles!

Not fair!

OK, so now everyone gets 3 loaves of bread each week. That’s fair right?

Picture of really stupid people who bought into the minimum wage myth. Was it Mark Twain who said "It's a lot easier to fool people than to convince them they've been fooled?"

here’s the thing that bothers me about cuts like this. If this university is 150 million over budget, cutting 500 of the lowest paying jobs is only going to remove 10% of that total. They can cut fewer “executive” jobs and save more money. Granted, I get what they are doing, but it is a red herring.

Leftist hypocrisy writ large.

It’s all so tedious and predictable.

They all went to the wall for Lenin, and were then shocked when they all went to the wall.

There is no hypocrisy when there is only one opinion allowed.

The left got what they wanted. It is no big deal to them that some eggs were broken making the omelet.

It’s all about control. “Justice” is their continual lie, never the actuality. But then, this is the crowd that will NEVER understand the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution.

Professional signs and banners. Not so much grass roots.

No, only the easily misled. Fiction author Terry Goodkind came up with the following:

People are stupid. They can be made to believe any lie because either they want to believe it's true or because they are afraid it's true

My rough guess is that at least 50% of Berkeley courses are worthless and ditto the faculty.

Perhaps, but with the number of eggs being broken, we should be up to our *keisters* in omelettes.

This won’t be a popular remark anywhere, but whenever people talk about how low-wage earners are going to feed their children, I think... why did they have children? Even 200 years ago when there was no birth control, people understood, at least in theory, that a man with little to no money had no business marrying and starting a family. Now, I understand that people today honestly believe that without sex they’ll die, but we do have birth control. So I ask again, why do the poor have children? I certainly never did, because the first 38 years of my life I was poor. It’s just common sense.

Years a go the country wasn’t off shoring it’s industrial base as fast as it could to the third world. It was possible to get a decent start in life then. Now it is all service jobs and no path to a career unless you go $100,000 in debt and get a degree.

If the minimum wage solved all problems we would still be working for 25 cents an hour in real silver coin.

Meanwhile, those in the agricultural field would still be getting less than minimum wage.

Too bad for the students who held the now-extinct jobs, but hey, parents of the kids who have to work their way through school don't contribute that much to the alumni fund anyway.

Of course it won't have any affect at all on the privileged trustafarians who wanted to demonstrate to the masses how enlightened they were by demanding $15/hour, and so the illuminé elites running Berkeley can live with it.

I’m not talking about people who went from middle-class and had 3 kids already to suddenly unemployed. I mean the chronic poor who breed like rabbits. Why? WHY??
