Super PACs for Cruz spend millions to sway/bribe/poach delegates from Trump
RNC Meeting Spring News 2016 and super PAC research | April 24, 2016 | Self - RNC spring convention observation

Posted on 04/24/2016 11:47:35 AM PDT by Beautiful_Gracious_Skies

In addition to "grass-roots" campaign workers, there are at least eight Super PACs backed by 'shadow elites' who are driven to defeat Donald Trump and they are banking on Ted Cruz. At least one of these super PAC leaders, Katie Packer of OPP, met behind closed doors at the RNC Spring Meeting this week in Florida. Packer states that a republican candidate should "uphold orthodox GOP ideology." This smacks of irony given her past allegiance with Romney/Ryan and Ryan's inability to uphold GOP principles as Speaker of the House.

The super PACs are calling, texting, emailing, lobbying, and all-out wining & dining the 2,472 delegates who will vote at the 2016 Republican National Convention. Elite super PACs directly interfere and influence delegates' decisions which is an encroachment and perversion of the electoral process. These deep-pocketed super PACs are funded by a small cadre of shadow billionaires. They appear to work in tandem with TeamCruz, yet just outside the confines of his official campaign to avoid scrutiny and violations from the FEC. After months of campaigning, the race boils down to a delegate battle funded by the shadowy money of a few elites, rather than the reflection of the caucus and primary votes.

While some super PACs were focused on advertising, they are currently playing a huge outside role in courting and flipping delegates for Cruz. The Our Principles PAC (OPP), run by Romney's 2012 deputy campaign manager -Katie Packer, is an organization developed exclusively for defeating Donald J. Trump. At the Spring RNC meeting in Florida, Packer distributed a four page plan to promote her delegate strategy.

OPP is the most well funded #NeverTrump super PAC. Funded by the Ricketts family -billionaire owners of the Chicago Cubs, OPP has spent $16,000,000 to defeat Trump. In addition to negative media advertising, they hire workers to distribute anti-Trump literature which can be found at precincts and state conventions. OPP's mission is to organize delegates and deploy any number of tactics with the goal of depriving Trump of as many delegates as possible in upcoming contests.

The culmination of the OPP effort is the utilization of staffers to target every state delegate bound or unbound. They seek to convince them by hook or crook to dump Trump at their respective state convention or in July at the RNC convention. Those already pledged to Trump after winning their state are being luxuriously lobbied to back Cruz on the subsequent ballots. The primary purpose of OPP, no matter the cost, no matter the ethics, is to ensure as few as possible delegates will be inclined to support Donald Trump.

Another anti-Trump super PAC, #NeverTrump, has focused on the logistics of the RNC convention in Cleveland. They have booked hundreds of hotel rooms in order to comp the targeted republican delegates. NeverTrump began as a grassroots group started by allies of former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.). They have endorsed Cruz in some states and Kasich in others, frustrating both candidates. NeverTrump is pushing Kasich in Maryland, and Cruz in Indiana. Paul Singer, the billionaire hedge funder, is another elite that has already wasted millions on negative Trump advertising to no avail. Now Singer is spending his millions scheming behind the scenes to reduce the numbers of Trump delegates that Donald Trump has earned.

Be forewarned. What is being done to Trump by destructive outside forces can also be done behind the scenes to Cruz at the convention. In the end, these same strategists and operatives manipulating this election cycle aren’t just alienating potential GOP voters. They are positioning to help the GOP lose the White House. Again.

>>>the phrase “mathematically eliminated” does not have an agreed definition. Cruz supporters say that “mathematically eliminated” means “not nominated at the convention.” <<<<

Mathematically eliminated to Cruz means that he still has enough money left to persuade delegates to support him.

There is a bottomless pit of globalist interest $$$$$ and this will continue to the floor of the convention. 1237 or no 1237.

-- Why waste hundreds of millions on ineffective advertising?
Just buy the delegate.
--

The advertising has to be done. The intended outcome is that the public believes it participated in a meaningful, unrigged, honest, election. If the process of electing the government looks rigged, if it doesn't include the appearance of persuading the public, the public will not attach legitimacy to the elected government. So the elites spend a bunch of money to propagate advertisements, in order to create a perception that public persuasion is necessary in advance, as if the choice at the ballot box makes a difference to the ruling class. Rigging the ballot box or buying delegates is sometimes but not always necessary to prevent a candidate that is unacceptable to the ruling class from getting into elected office.

Cruz has had a troll operation going since the start of his run, but his funding has really increased in the last few months. Hillery's really upped her funding of online ops as well and it wouldn't surprise me if spend part of their time helping Cruz.

Actually they are violating the laws of many states. Many of the delegates are elected officials of the state and bribing them is illegal.

“They are positioning to help the GOP lose the White House. Again.”

Yes, it's plainly obvious by now. NO ONE in Wash DC is stupid enough to really think anyone but Trump can win in November. He is the only one who will fight back by bringing up the 25 years worth of scandals that follow the Clintons everywhere they go.

I'm convinced the only way to change the minds of the #NeverTrumpers about losing the WH is if they fully understand the consequences: They THEMSELVES may not be returning to Washington DC after November to continue pilfering the national treasury. Most of them are up for reelection. See my previous post.

Last Thursday I changed my CT registration from NON AFFILIATED to REPUBLICAN only so that I can vote for Trump on Tuesday's CT primary. But I'm changing it right back to NON AFFILIATED.

I am embarrassed to call myself a Republican after the GOP/Cruz shenanigans being pulled to deny Trump his rightful place as nominee.

Perhaps President Trump will make it safe to be a Republican again. We shall see.

I think there are more than one on here. I have seen many who are pro Cruz and have noticed one thing about them. They do not say anything on their page. Why? A few seem to have been here for years but I do not remember seeing any posts from them before now. Some really hate Trump supporters. Bless their hearts.

There’s you moral guy folks.

Just down right pathetic.

GREAT WORK.

PS---wait til they figure out they can use this same tactic with the ELECTORAL COLLEGE in future voterless elections. I must admit: Ted and Heidi are VISIONARIES at gaming the system. Leftists who are still around from the 60s and 70s are amateurs, never thinking outside the box, compared to Ted and Heidi. Wow.

I’m afraid you have it right, unfortunately. And as more and more people figure out what you so eloquently posted, the anger rises and rises.

Part of me is glad that Trump has refused to play this immoral game, but part of me wants to see him do what he does best... Use their own tactics against them.

If someone will set up a GoFundMe account to “help delegates with their expenses,” I will sure as heck donate!

Wouldn’t that be wild? If We-The-People fought back by doing what the Republican Establishment is doing, it would bring a WHOLE HECK OF A LOT of attention to the delegate scam. We may still lose Trump in the primary, but at least everyone would know WHY.

Where ARE the FR cruzers? The last two days their numbers have dropped off precipitously. Even hard to find. Threads that once would have been polluted like a river outside a nuke plant are nowhere to be seen.

SamAdams you are VERY correct about Cruz career, he has JUMPED into bed with GOPe first chance they gave him!!! Many of his supporters are now for Trump, it happened on this site as well!!! Cruz has jumped the shark!!! I was a strong supporter of Cruz now I ABSOLUTELY can’t stand the guy!!! He has a REAL CREEP factor about him I did not see when he was in the senate!!! The fact that he has accomplished NOTHING in his SHORT life yet feels he deserves this HUGE job is quite astounding!!! He TRULY believes he IS the smartest person on the planet, you can SEE how elite he TRULY is, he believes he is better than the average American he knows what is best for us, thus stealing the delegates IS what is best for the people who VOTED Trump!!!

Cruz calls himself a Constitutional Conservative, yet he doesn’t respect the most basic tenet of the founding of America, representative govt.
