I love the Constitution. I can't, for the life of me, find a clause that might allow the feds to control this.

Ha ha. Goodell must be angry. He was trying to appease the other owners while serving his boss Kraft, and he thought it went perfectly. I suspect Goodell will still find a way to get our of benching Brady.

Great let’s take ball deflation to the Supreme Court.

They’re a bunch of political hacks, anyway.

Ya, how did Tom Brady ever bring a suit in Federal Court? I mean, what business is it of the government to settle contract disputes?

Appeals court? Why are we still talking about this? It’s invading my “safe space”. Someone make it go away!

Dumbest.
Non scandal scandal.
Ever.

If Goodell doesn't step in and stop, Brady is going to sue the pants off of Goodell and the NFL.

Sports writers are going to go after Brady more for his Trump hat than the stupid ball thing......

As an originalist, I believe that there are no back doors to enhanced federal powers.

It’s a labor suit. The Feds are all into that.

In this case I believe the jurisdiction lies with the Federal courts because the NFL Players Association is certified by its members as a national labor union. As a result, any disputes under its collective bargaining agreement with the NFL are governed by Federal labor law.

I'd be curious to hear from any Freeper lawyers out there who know more about this than I do.

The NFL is a commercial entity that conducts interstate commerce. The Constitution specifically enumerates Congress with the authority to regulate commerce between the states.

(Article I, Section 8, Clause 3). The clause states that the United States Congress shall have power “To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes.”

Brady and the Patriots are cheaters — everybody knows it. Now Tom’s dream of winning a 5th Super Bowl ring just went down the toilet.

He’s a talented QB — no doubt — but he’ll always be remembered as a cheater.

Who could give a flying rats ass? Grown men, playing children’s games. The real perps in this are the head refs, who squeeze the ball to spot it before every snap and could have reported an under-inflated ball. Ever wonder about that? Goodell is a 25 mil per/year lackey trying to keep the scam afloat.

It’s really hard to believe our court system is getting used for this.
