The commerce clause was intended to prevent one state from taxing products from other states passing through...any other interpretation is treasonous IMHO.
I think it applies here.
Commish imposes a 4 game suspension on Brady. Brady takes it to state court and wins.
Now players from every other franchise commit the same offense. Commish imposes the same penalty. Players take it to state court and all lose.
I’ll agree that the interstate commerce clause is highly abused, but this is a case where it is not.
