I think one of the coolest things I ever saw hunting was when a golden eagle attempted to kill a Coues whitetail fawn. I was hunting in the Chircahua Mts. watching a group of three does and a fawn going up a hillside when this dark streak came from above and the deer scattered. The eagle, completely unsuccessful - this time - spread his/her wings and looked around as if to say, “Where the hell did they go?!”
