Will Trump Choose Tulsi Gabbard as Veep? (not a vanity...just heard on the interweb)

Posted on 05/05/2016 3:56:49 PM PDT by RoosterRedux

Friends of mine who have their ears to the rails have said that Trump is considering a Democrat...Tulsi Gabbard.

I am waiting for more but that's all I have as of now.

If Trump does something you don’t like, who are you going to blame. Everything Trump does is right. If you don’t like it, you are a Cruzer.

What is the difference between U.S. nations and U.S. citizens? I thought it meant the same thing. Now I’ll go look that up.

“She is up to her ears in a wacky religion.”

You are not the first person to dislike her religion — please read:

[Excerpt] Once the Christian missionaries arrived, the religious practices of the Portuguese turned oppressive after an initial period of indifference and all Hindu temples were ordered closed in 1541. Over 350 temples were destroyed by the year 1559 and even the private idol worship was banned. When Francis Xavier, the famous missionary demanded the setting up of Goa Inquisition, a religious tribunal for suppression of heresy and punishment of heretics, things got worse.

The Inquisition set up in 1560 was notorious for using brutal torture and lasted till 1812 and this was the golden age where the power of life and death of ordinary people was held by a Christian priest. If people were unable to pass ‘act of faith’ (autos - da - Fe), they were stretched on the rack and also some people were burnt on the stake.

The Goan Inquisition was documented in bestseller Guardian of Dawn by Richard Zimler who called it a ‘machinery of death’ - the most merciless and cruel ever developed. Dismembering the children limb by limb in front of their parents whose eyes were taped open till they agreed to convert was particularly an effective method.

On the faintest suspicion of heresy, thousand died during the 252 years of the Inquisition. If a small idol was kept at home or a non-Christian prayer whispered, anyone could be arrested and tortured in special Inquisition prisons. It is estimated that by the end of 17th century the ethnic cleansing of Hindus and Muslims was complete as there was less than 20,000 that were non-Christian out of the total Goan population of 2,50,000. Thanks - I did a search and read on a couple sites, I still am not 100% sure about T. Gabbard’s status though. If you have it figured out let me know.

Why is her family screwed up? You think Hinduism is a screwed up religion? Why not focus on mohammedanism as a screwed up religion. Hindus aren’t now and never have gone around conquering and beheading and torturing in the name of “religion”.

I don't think he'll pick a Hawaii Democrat.

How about a Hawaiian Independent...

American Samoa is unique as the only U.S. territory where those born there are not automatically U.S. citizens

I didn't realize that you could be a US national and not a US citizen.

Or that Tulsi's father's parents could apparently be US citizens and him not a born US citizen despite being born in a US territory, but I guess that's true.

I'd still be careful with Wikipedia. Yesterday, Mike Gabbard's religion was Roman Catholic and today it's Hare Krishna. I don't think he converted overnight or somebody uncovered some new info since I last checked it.

It may only be a relevant distinction when it comes to American Samoa. And some place called Swain's Island. More here

After reading up yesterday, that’s what it seemed to me. I’m still in the dark about Gabbard’s situation. Or why her father had to be naturalized, his father was US citizen and his mother was Samoan (American Samoa). I wonder if the legal situtaion was the same as now, or different, when he was born.
