Morley Safer, the longest-serving correspondent in the history of “60 Minutes,” says it is time to retire.
Safer, 84, said in a statement, “It’s been a wonderful run, but the time has come to say goodbye to all of my friends at CBS and the dozens of people who kept me on the air.”
CBS announced on Wednesday that the network will broadcast a special hour-long look at Safer’s broadcasting career on Sunday night. …

Morley's become an institution and didn't mouth off on politics all the time like some of his colleagues at CBS, so kudos to somebody who's managed to stay on the tube this long.

Wow. 84 years old. Safer was just a kid when the Lib Bias of 60 Minutes nearly choked me to death and I had give the show up.
Like Justin Beiber, just keep em! We don’t want him back.

I had heard that a big time 60 Minutes correspondent was gay and they did a piece on Safer where he was dressed a bit to finely with a bit too much make-up on. So I put 2 and 2 together and came up with 5.
Turns out the "big time" 60 Minutes correspondent that's gay is Anderson Cooper. No big surprise now.

Even at 84 years old, years of experience at 60 Minutes, years of experience as an “investigative” reporter but he couldn’t find the IRS, the DOJ & BATFE Fast & Furious, the State Dept. & Benghazi or Benghazi Clinton’s emails, Slick Willie and Benghazi Clinton & the Clinton Global Crime Initiative Charity scam and money laundering crime, etc. .... just another self acclaimed “reporter” who couldn’t find his own a$$ with a map, detailed instructions and help from his 60 Minutes low life friends!
Maybe they will give him one of those participation trophies that everyone gets now a days!
I hate 60 Minutes. They’re all into goring other cows - Republicans, capitalists, corporations - but nary a word on Obama or Hillary’s crimes, too many to list here.
I record it every week and select what I want. The story on the 28 pages was great and implicated the saudi government. once in a while they hit a home run. Good on medical stories about research and new treatments. The features in entertainers good stuff. It’s a mistake to take a program with three features and characterize it the same week after week. Recording lets us be selective.
