Crimes/Accidents Committed While High On Pot in Wa/Or/Co-Can States Be Named Co-Defendant?

Posted on 05/12/2016 8:24:11 AM PDT by Be Careful

Since these states are legislating by usurping Federal law, can they be held responsible for creating/enabling an environment that contributed to an accident or a crime?

I have noticed that an astonishing percentage of visitors like going through my medicine cabinet. Unfortunately for them, there’s nothing there but hygiene maintenance goods.

“Every state issues alcohol permits. Are they liable for drunks murdering people every year?”

Some take it a step further. WA state ferries -which are technically part of the highway system- serve alcohol in their galleys.

I have a druggie sister in law, and when she visits, we clean out the drugs of abuse and hide them.

I fell off the mtn bike a few years ago, tearing my rotator cuff in 2 places, and was prescribed mass amounts of Vicodin, at different strengths. I will never, ever, use it all, but that doesn’t mean I want druggies stealing them!

I noticed she never stole my Flintstones multivitamins, just the good stuff.

1. I posted a serious comment.
2. You showed how it could be misinterpreted in a funny way.
3. I enjoyed the humor in your post but I also realized that it's helpful in writing to take the time to avoid funny double meanings.

Got it.

I’m a little ‘tarded.

My first wife was ‘tarded. She’s a pilot now.

"I know from first hand experience too. A cousin who has been smoking his old fashioned homegrown for 40 years tried 2 hits of some super skunk and he went fetal for 4 hours. He will never smoke it again. Whats that tell you? "

It tells me he's a lightweight, and a quitter!

It is not a State’s rights issue, as pot is illegal at the Federal level

There are a lot of laws that the feds make that they have no Constitutional right to make! Just because there is a federal law, does not mean the states should let it go. The Constitution defines a limited federal government with the rest of the issues being addressed by each sovereign state accordingly. Don't get me wrong. I don't think states should legalize pot, but it is a state issue, as is marriage, driving, drinking, abortion, environment, education, and a slew of others. The federal government has coopted these issues over time and the states' sovereignty has been greatly diminished over time.

What part of “15% of skunk users become psychotic” do you not understand? Is it the “of”? “become”?

Yes they were mentally ill - they had cannabis psychosis.

So you never saw anyone freak out after smoking too much? Do you want to buy a bridge?

No - he smoked pot daily for a number of years, was 6’6”, 240 lbs, and a lineman for 20 years. He used to pick up one end of Volkswagon beetles for laughs.

This will be huge - there are now bona fide marijuana overdose deaths. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2548669/Devout-Christian-mother-three-31-woman-Britain-DIE-cannabis-poisoning-smoking-joint-bed.html

I am not aware of anyone becoming psychotic after drinking too many beers.

Delusions, paranoia, anxiety - these are lasting affects after the buzz goes away.

If you don’t find that coherent, the concepts therein must be above your level.

And be curled up in a fetal ball for 4 hours because of pot?

Are you implying that any amount of pot in a persons' system makes them unable to drive safely? Yep!

Well, aren't you sheltered.

Why don't you try a search engine and type in:

alcohol induced psychosis.

You will be quite enlightened.
