Our congress at work. THIS is what we have leading the nation down the dead end road to total destruction!!! They did not read Obamacare and it destroying the health care industry to give deadbeats free stuff. But this guy is no hero, because he is a TOTAL COWARD because he does not reveal his name, might lose that job he says he is there to protect.

98% of members of Congress are merely PROSTITUTES.

Broom them all!

If the Congresscritter doesn’t reveal himself as far as I’m concerned he didn’t write the book. The claims being made could have been written by anyone with any knowledge of the past 20+ years.

Hell anyone on this forum could write that book and claim they were a member

Every one of them should be subjected to a random drug and alcohol test. That should take care of about 90% of them. Fail, and your toast!

I am to the point that, following the conceit of Wm. F. Buckley, Jr. - “I would rather be governed by the first 100 names in the Boston phone directory than by the faculty of Harvard” - we should consider making Congress to be like jury duty. Establish some minimum standards for competence, select Congressmen via lottery from a pool of competent people able to read, write, and speak fluently - and pay them handsomely for strictly limited time.

As it is now, there is no credible argument for Jimmy Carter’s campaign slogan, “Once and for all, why not the best.” Quite simply, we just do not elect superior people all that often. Certainly Jimmy Carter was not “the best;” with no experience at all I coulda beat that performance.

The novel called “The Politician” which was based on John Edwards and written by his former staffer came to basically the same conclusions. Basically political career was everything - nothing else remotely mattered and what’s more the Edwards character didn’t know anything else and certainly didn’t care.

For starters, thanks to secure communications infrastructures and video teleconferencing developed for the Intelligence Community and DoD, there is no reason for Congresspeople to have to be in DC. They should not be allowed to leave their home districts or states while serving except on official National business—no partisan work, no fundraising or lobbyist meetings outside of their districts. Shut down the DC Capitol building and all the office space supporting it. It should be a sacrifice and actual service to the people they represent. If they don’t like that, don’t run for office.

This country has an unhealthy addiction to all things government services and commander in chief not ruling over his own government but over the people handed over as slave bribes to the government worker’s feeling of superiority.
