Local rancher could have taken it
just out side the park in Montana there are ranches that raises bison to sell as meat. I am sure that if contacted that one of the bison ranchers on the reservation would of driven up that day to retrieve the calf. yes he would of been on a farm being raised for food but he would of been allowed to live a few years. all I can say is what a waste.
Too much chance of brucellosis spreading to cattle. The Yellowstone herds are infected with it.
