I would not equate Hillary Clinton with the Founding Fathers.
I would not equate Muhammad Ali with the Founding Fathers.

But you are free to do so.

If you’re not already in government, consider it as a career. Sounds like youd make an awesome bureaucrat. Rules are rules after all!! That 6 year old kid made a picture that looks like a gun? Expel him!!! The rules say so!!

On this thread, my intended focus has been 100% on security clearances and proper enforcement of regulations related to security matters.

That’s an essential point in the Muhammad Ali story.
It’s an essential point in the Clinton email server story.

Once you start making exceptions for exceptional people, you go down a bad path. That’s all I’m saying. But you seem totally obtuse to this simple fact. You’re just an Ali fanboy who can’t see anything bigger than the fact that he was just super cool and awesome.

This is no loss to the world. A useless worm is now with his peers.

Personally, he was a nice guy. I always heard positive stories about him. I must say he was such a large figure in my childhood. Always in the news and so amazing to look at.

My parents - particularly my mother - hated him!

He was a great fighter. Always thought it a bit ironic that he tried to justify his avoiding the draft by saying that he was a muslim and that muslims were pacifists. He couldn’t serve because he was against killing. Not against beating the crap out of people for money though.

He was audacious when it furthered his career, but a devoted friend to all.

The reason Ali acted in such a manner was his meeting with the wrestler, Gorgeous George. Gorgeous George explained to then Cassius Clay that he acted as such a jerk as a wrestler because people paid big money to have the stuffing beat out of him. And then Cassius Clay saw Gorgeous George fight; e.g., throwing bobby pins all over the place; taling about his beautiful hair, and people were saying "smash gorgeous George's face in; etc. Mohammed Ali aka Cassius Clay saw all that and thought it was a good idea and would make lots of money. And it did. People flooded the seats of the boxing match to see Sonny Liston; etal, smash Mohammed Ali aka Cassius Clay's face in -- even though we know both times the outcome was different.>/p>

he was no genuine pacifist against war per se

he was against war not sanctioned by Allah

he would have been fine with wars that he regarded as fought in the name of Allah

his “conscientious objector” status should have been denied because he was no genuine conscientious objector to war as such, he was a selective objector

he won his legal case at the SCOTUS 4 years later on a technicality, but his views did not merit the designation “conscientious objector” as that term is usually understood either morally or legally (like a Quaker opposed to all war as such)

So I take it you’re not a Trump man?

He basically did exactly what Ali did. His country called, and he hung up the phone. Yet suffered no consequences. Yet he’s the hero of the Freerepublic. Go figure.

To be fair, while some will claim that Ali “evaded” the draft, or was a draft “dodger”. He did not run away to Canada or any other country. He faced the charges and took the punishment.

And, another thing, every generation venerates their boxing hero. For my father, it was Joe Louis. For others, Marciano, or Tyson.

Could Ali have whupped ‘em?

An unequivocal YES.

Talking boxing?

Ali was The Greatest.

If we followed every rule every time without question...

Amen BigDaddy

Ali broke the “rules” every match. He showed others, how it could be done.

That’s why he was, The Greatest.

Doubt it. They probably love Cassius Clay over there.

“When notified of this status, he declared that he would refuse to serve in the U.S. Army and publicly considered himself a conscientious objector. Ali stated that ‘War is against the teachings of the Holy Qur’an. I’m not trying to dodge the draft. We are not supposed to take part in no wars unless declared by Allah or The Messenger [ Elijah Muhammad ]. We don’t take part in Christian wars or wars of any unbelievers.’”

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clay_v._United_States

On May 8, 1942, Elijah Muhammad was arrested for failure to register for the draft during World War II....returned to Chicago... Muhammad was arrested there, charged with eight counts of sedition for instructing his followers not to register for the draft or serve in the armed forces. Found guilty, Elijah Muhammad served four years, from 1942 to 1946, at the Federal Correctional Institution in Milan, Michigan....

Muhammad preached his own version of Islam to his followers in the Nation. According to him, blacks were known as the ‘original’ human being, with ‘evil’ whites being an offshoot race that would go on to oppress black people for 6,000 years.

You know, I was opposed to what he did. He surely would have had some cushy assignment. But he did what his conscience dictated, and he paid a much greater price than any other conscientious objector. I respect him for that. I wonder what you would do if Obama ordered an invasion of Israel or England, and you were drafted.

The only “magic” of ali, was what the fixers of most,if not all, of his title fights, allowed ( Whether they were fixed by by the Italian or Jewish Mafia, his gay muslim thugs,or whomever, We will never know ), and what Leftist Traitor Whites and Jew PROTECTORS in High Places, also allowed.

Otherwise, he would have rightfully been lynched or executed for deliberately being such a divisive, provocateur of bad race relations, like the colossal asshole he was.

Magic, SCHMAGIC. Like all “magic”, nothing but smoke, and mirrors, misdirection....y’know,what used to be known as LIES.

And nobody ever called him on the carpet about it.And he got away with murder, literally and figuratively, for 50+ YEARS, that NO WHITE ATHLETE could ever have gotten away with anti-Black, Pro-White rants, even in the ‘60s, when Blacks were “oppressed” by “the man”.

Some “White Privilege”, isn’t it?!!!!
