The Mayor’s comments ought to set right with the jury for indictments against the city. His blaming Trump for the violence extends to motive for failure to protect Trump’s supporters.

However, if you do want the police to get involved, just beat the hell out of a anti Trump protestor while defending themselves, a/k/a Soros hired goon. Then the police will react immediately and violently, against Trump supporters.
Per the SCOTUS, the state has no duty to protect anyone.
Read the Constitution: It grants power without imposing any duties, other than that the POTUS is required to swear to “faithfully execute the laws.” There is no penalty specified for a failure to fulfill that oath.
