I hate when people think I ordered peanut butter on my grilled cheese sandwich and it almost kills me.
One of the reasons we used to stop at Subway when we were traveling was because we could see exactly what they were putting on the sandwich. Am surprised you didn’t see employee putting the mushrooms on the sandwich.
Last time I stopped to pick up a sandwich on my way home last year I was the only English as a first language person in the place. This in Houston suburbs. Haven’t been back since.
Employee probably didn’t understand the order, and thought it was for extra peanut butter.
They are doing the jobs Americans won’t do.
The intentional lack of assmilation in the United States, courtesy of Democrats, especially Democrat one party states.
Mexicans have a 0.6% share of population in Massachusetts.
Hispanically speaking, MA has large Puerto Rican and Brazilian populations.
I do not remember this being a problem when I was growing up. We took peanut butter sandwiches to school and nobody was trying to quarantine us.
There were plenty of foods I pretended to be allergic to. Like broccoli and carrots. But my parents forced me to eat them anyway. Or I wasn't going to get any pie, which I definitely was NOT allergic to.
Anyway, we apparently do have a lot of food allergies today. Those that have them would probably be wise to avoid restaurants as a general rule. You never know what goes into restaurant food. I know, because I worked in one. You just don't want to know...
Never tried peanut butter in chili. Usually see it used in Chicken mole but never eaten this either. Peanut butter not a fav. Peanuts not well liked. Prefer almond butter. IF eaten, smooth and creamy PB is preferred over the crunchy. Different strokes for different folks :-) Pity, because the fragrance of roasted peanuts is so tantalizing!!
It does seem kind of weird that there are SO MANY food allergies now, and kids with autism when I grew up I can’t remember ANYONE having anything but asthma !!!!
Maybe the peanut butter self-identified as cheese.<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
LOL, good thing I wasn’t drinking coffee!!! Excellent!!!
The restaurant owners are liable for everything the workers do. Basic business law 101.
I can’t believe this mother called into a restaurant for a DAMNED grilled cheese sandwich, I mean if I had a child with severe allergies I would make the dang sandwich myself what the hell does it take to make a grilled cheese sandwich???? Then you have to get in the car and go pick it up for crying out loud how lazy are people today???
That's not how it works. I don't know the veracity of the plaintiff's claims in this case, but how torts and business law work is that an employee, when performing the core responsibilities of his/her job, is acting as an agent of the employer. Further, employers are responsible for the bad acts, including negligence, of their employees. Also, shareholders are the owners of a corporation: they share in the profits of the company, and they effectively help pay for its losses (via loss in stock value). Therefore, if Panera employee misreads an order and adds peanut butter to a sandwich rather than makes sure there is no peanut butter in the sandwich, it is the company that is on the hook. The plaintiff also may sue the employee himself/herself personally, but the really money would come from suiing the employer, which, by the way, would have insurance for just such situations.
Two possible reasons off the top of my head. 1) People with food allergies died young, and other things were blamed. 2) The food, itself, has been changed over time.
Now that we know of #1, more people are aware and have kids tested for allergies and treat reactions with modern treatments, unavailable to the masses even a generation ago.
.
My guess is that the family did the P-nut trick themselves.
Well, there's your problem right there.
Panera sucks.
They don't want my gun, they don't want me.
But they do suck...food is terrible...no seasoning...bland...unimaginative...crap.
Oh, and did I mention they don't want my gun in their store?
Pray tel l:^} what is on the Panera Bread Menu, that has a dollop of peanut butter in the recipe?
If I had a child with a severe life and death food allergy I would make sure that all food was prepared at home.
Restaurant kitchens are a nightmare in terms of possible cross contamination. The same knife can be .... and is...used for a variety of orders.
Not defending Panera here, but seriously, if your child had an allergy that life threatening, why would you EVER give her food you didn’t personally inspect before she put it in her mouth? Why on earth would you let some minimum wage worker be the final arbiter of whether or not the food they are preparing is safe to eat? In fact, why would you EVER allow her to eat food you didn’t personally prepare and ensure was safe....at least until she was old enough to responsibly check her food herself?
Grilled cheese with... PEANUT BUTTER?
I’m calling shenanigans.
BINGO!
