How This 20-Year-Old Died From Kissing Her Boyfriend
cosmopolitan.com ^

Posted on 06/11/2016 6:25:53 AM PDT by BenLurkin

Myriam Ducre-Lemay, 20, died in 2012 after kissing her boyfriend — he'd eaten a peanut butter sandwich and wasn't aware of her peanut allergy (or the severity of it) and she was not carrying her EpiPen with her at the time, CTV News reports. Her mother is just now publicizing the story to help others avoid the same situation.

According to CJAD, Ducre-Lemay and her boyfriend had been out at a party earlier that night, which is why she didn't have her medication or her Medic Alert bracelet on her. After the kiss, she had trouble breathing, tried using her asthma pump, and, when that didn't work, asked her boyfriend about peanuts — when he said he'd eaten them, she told him to call 911.

He attempted to give her CPR before the ambulance arrived. Emergency crews attempted to resuscitate her with epinephrine, but failed. En route to the hospital, Ducre-Lemay suffered cardiopulmonary arrest, which led to cerebral anoxia (oxygen deprivation to the brain).

What about the rise of people who were not allergic and exposed all their lives. Then suddenly get allergies in adulthood?

Me! Never had a food allergy in my life. Was hungry on the way to pick up the kids so grabbed a little pack of macadamia nuts, which I had enjoyed my whole life. Ate several, got dizzy, nauseous, couldn’t walk well, lips and tongue feeling fuzzy and swollen. Still somehow got the kids home. I thought I’d gotten a bad nut.

Then I took one macadamia nut out of a package a family member was eating from for days with no problems, and just having it in my mouth, all those symptoms came right back, and I hadn’t even swallowed any. I spit it out. Told a GI doc later and she gave me a script for epi—pen (which I’ve never filled but I guess I should) and told me that my allergy was the kind that leads to anaphalytic shock.

What does that come from? Different gut biome?

This story means I can’t kiss any Hawaiians, I guess. :(

Right you are.

This physician organization has some the nation’s top doctors who are now coming forward about child vaccine injury:

http://ahrp.org/americas-healthcare-crisis-part-iii-vaccine-controversy/

AUTISM: Compelling Epidemiological Evidence Cannot Be Ignored

In 1976, children in the US received 10 vaccines before attending school. Autism was rare– for decades, until the 1980s, the autism prevalence rate had been about 1 in 2,000.[13] Since 1983, the US vaccine schedule for infants and children under age 5 has more than tripled: US infants are subjected from birth to one—to 26 vaccine doses—and 36 doses by age 5.[1]

During the same period, there has been a striking upward spiral in the prevalence of autism.
In 2009, the CDC reported the autism prevalence rate as 1 in 110.[14]
In 2012, the autism spectrum prevalence in the US shot up to 1 in 88. [15]

In 2011, the US Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee (IACC, 2011) declared Autism “a national emergency:”[16]

“Two decades ago, autism was a little-known, uncommon disorder. Today, autism is more common in the United States than childhood cancer, juvenile diabetes, and pediatric AIDS combined, and the increasing numbers of children being diagnosed with autism has created a national health emergency.”

This dramatic spike led the Director of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and Chair of the IACC, Dr. Thomas Insel, to acknowledge,

“There is no question that there has got to be an environmental component here.”[17]

Store buttermilk is not the clabbered milk of your great grandmother’s days. It’s pasturized and hard to digest. Try raw kefir if you live in CA (organic pastures brand) for a similar taste that is GOOD for your gut biome and you can digest it.

ASo you double down on propter hoc with Appeal To authority.

As I said there is no SCIENTIFIC evidence.

BTW: there in the case of AGW there is still no scientific evidence supporting it, so please do not attempt to conflate it with the science that does not exist re: linking vaccines to any condition.

But they bring the younger children to us. I don’t have a single case that I can think of that wasn’t vaccinated.”<<

Post hoc.

By your reasoning breast-feeding is a cause of autism since almost all children with autism were breast fed.

>>Hopeless blind to facts.<<

You have yet to produce a single fact. Fallacies are not facts. You are misleading people with your ignorance and urban myths. As someone noted earlier, you are the same as people who think the Government is behind chemtrails and that JFK is being held frozen in a vault under the White House.

>>Please do not do anything that could harm your fellow man -

I do pray you have no children to abuse with your superstition and stupidity — you are already actively doing great harm with it.

You are dangerous and not in a good way.

No more engagement with anyone called free dumb.
WTF does one have to do to get thru that there IS clinical trial scientific evidence by GlaxoSmithKline own admission that children who were given their MMR vaccine developed autism.

READ dammit that and the testimony of physicians and researchers a hell of a lot more educated and accomplished in their medical field specialies than you or I.

GlaxoSmithKline MMR vaccine clinical trial document provides ample evidence of adverse events from the vaccine, including five known cases of autism resulting from the vaccine’s administration during its clinical trials (see table at page 626, excerpt below).

Wait, are you telling me that somewhere in that tome there is a CAUSAL LINK from virus to autism?

Or there were 5 cases of autism in vaccinated children?

If the latter you repeat your blather and still do not seem to understand the logical fallacy of post hoc/propter hoc. If the former you will soon be richer than the dreams of avarice in leading a class action suit.

And you ad hominem attacks on my name tells everyone that you are incapable of argumentation of ANY kind. Are you capable of anything except logical fallacies?

Yes.
The antenuated virus is not necessarily the causal agent.
It’s believed by medical professionals that the vaccine neurological injuries are caused by the adjuvants, additives and preservatives, such as squalene, aluminum and thimerosal (mercury).

By your logic of absolute causal proof, Vioxx would still be on one market in spite of it being implicated in the death of thousands of patients who were prescribed the drug.

Report: Vioxx linked to thousands of deaths - Health - Arthritis | NBC ...

www.nbcnews.com/id/6192603/ns/health-arthritis/t/repo... Proxy

Oct 6, 2004 ... s arthritis drug Vioxx may have led to more than 27000 heart attacks and ... That included 40,405 patients who had taken Celebrex and 26,748 ...

You are biased and tone deaf to logic in this matter.

1. The US gov’t sponsored Vaccine injury fund has awarded over TWO BILLION DOLLARS to vaccine injury victims and their family. FACT
There is a Very high burden of proof required in order to have case heard, and even higher to have medical experts convince the fund to award compensation.
So, there must have been at least enough “causal” evidence of vaccine injury, to justify $2,000,000,000 awarded to THOUSANDS of vaccine injury victims.

2. Two different vaccine mfgrs inserts acknowledge severe side-effects for several neurological injuries (including autism) for their MMR and DTaP vaccines.

3. Read the testimony of medical experts who are stating that the US vaccine schedule is far too aggressive and results in disproportionate child vaccine injuries at a greater rate than countries that have backed away from the US schedule and adopted conservative vaccine administration, such as Japan.

4. Finally, if you want to get beyond religious dogma of science-medicine-government-can-do-no-harm, I suggest you call the thousands of parents of vacvine injured children who the government’s Vaccine Injury Compensation actually acknowledged causal (cause and affect) proof of vaccine injury.
Ask the parents about the plight of their debilitated child and how they manage caring for them 24 x 7.
Ask the parents about their trial evidence that proved cause and affect vaccine injury of their child.

$61 Million Dollar Settlement With Payout Over Child’s Expected Lifetime Negotiated by Attorneys at Maglio Christopher & Toale, P.A. for DTaP Vaccine Reaction

June 21, 2011 By Maglio Christopher & Toale, P.A. 1 Comment

(June 21, 2011 – WASHINGTON, D.C.) S.M.* was born a normal and healthy baby girl in August 2005, weighing 7 lbs. 12 ounces. Two months later, her short, healthy life changed tragically because of a rare and severe vaccine reaction.

Only hours after baby S.M. received a routine diphtheria, tetanus and acellular pertussis (DTaP) vaccination, she started to have seizures, abnormal breathing, irregular heartbeats, and at 6:05am the next morning, her heart stopped completely. It took 6 minutes of CPR to revive her. She has spent that last 6 years of her life suffering from cognitive delays, cerebral palsy, encephalopathy, and seizure disorder; all because of an unexpected adverse reaction.

Vaccine attorneys at the law firm of Maglio Christopher & Toale, P.A., who represented S.M. and her family determined that the case was clearly a result of a terrible reaction to the DTaP immunization. In fact, after reviewing the case submitted by Maglio Christopher & Toale, PA,
**the Division of Vaccine Injury Compensation of the Department of Health and Human Services agreed that S.M. was indeed be entitled to compensation.**
“S.M. will need complete, around-the-clock medical care for the rest of her life,” says the family’s vaccine attorney, Anne Carrión Toale of Maglio Christopher & Toale, PA. “The $61 million dollar settlement amount to be paid out over S.M.’s lifetime is meant to pay for this care.” The settlement totaling $61 million when paid out over the child’s expected lifetime was not reduced by Maglio Christopher & Toale, PA attorney’s fees and the case’s costs as they were awarded separately by the Court.

This vaccine case was medically complicated and the child’s future needs were extensive. “Without legal representation, it could have turned out very differently,” says Toale. “That is why we strongly recommend that anyone considering filing a vaccine case hire an attorney who is experienced in vaccine cases to represent them, especially since there is no cost to victims at all.” Maglio Christopher & Toale, P.A. has been representing vaccine injured patients for well over a decade and currently represents hundreds of patients experiencing adverse reactions to vaccines across the United States.

In 1986, Congress set up an elaborate system to compensate patients injured by adverse reactions to vaccination called the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program. Since its establishment, the Program has paid out more than a billion dollars in vaccine claims and currently holds more than three billion dollars in trust for future claims. Whether a patient is to be compensated for a vaccine injury is determined by the United States Court of Federal Claims in Washington, DC. Awards by the Court go directly to vaccine injury victims. Attorneys are paid separately for their time by the Court so that there are no legal costs to the victims, even if they do not win their claims. “Not only do very few patients know about the vaccine injury compensation program, very few doctors and lawyers know about it ,” says Altom Maglio, managing attorney of Maglio Christopher & Toale, P.A. “It’s a huge help in putting our clients’ lives back together. Compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and some compensation for pain and suffering is huge when your life has been turned upside down. But there is a very short window to file your claim,” warns Maglio.

I am mot requiring absolute causality — just causality. My example of breast milk causing autism is a better analogy.

As for the rest, your straw men are painted pretty nut are straw men.

I do find it ironic that you, who has yet to show a direct scientific link between vaccines, instead resort to logical fallacies and then say I am “tone deaf to logic.”

Show a single scientific published report that says that autism is caused by vaccine(s). Not one that says participants got it. Not one that says other things happened to people who are vaccinated. Not one that makes fun of my name. Not one that deals with something that isn’t even what we are discussing.

A single study that says there is a scientific link and what that link is.

Abstract

Universal hepatitis B vaccination was recommended for U.S. newborns in 1991; however, safety findings are mixed. The association between hepatitis B vaccination of male neonates and parental report of autism diagnosis was determined. This cross-sectional study used weighted probability samples obtained from National Health Interview Survey 1997-2002 data sets. Vaccination status was determined from the vaccination record. Logistic regression was used to estimate the odds for autism diagnosis associated with neonatal hepatitis B vaccination among boys age 3-17 years, born before 1999, adjusted for race, maternal education, and two-parent household. **Boys vaccinated as neonates had threefold greater odds for autism diagnosis compared to boys never vaccinated or vaccinated after the first month of life. Non-Hispanic white boys were 64% less likely to have autism diagnosis relative to nonwhite boys. **Findings suggest that U.S. male neonates vaccinated with the hepatitis B vaccine prior to 1999 (from vaccination record) had a threefold higher risk for parental report of autism diagnosis compared to boys not vaccinated as neonates during that same time period. Nonwhite boys bore a greater risk.

A positive association found between autism prevalence and childhood vaccination uptake across the U.S. population.

Abstract

The reason for the rapid rise of autism in the United States that began in the 1990s is a mystery. Although individuals probably have a genetic predisposition to develop autism, researchers suspect that one or more environmental triggers are also needed. One of those triggers might be the battery of vaccinations that young children receive. Using regression analysis and controlling for family income and ethnicity, the relationship between the proportion of children who received the recommended vaccines by age 2 years and the prevalence of autism (AUT) or speech or language impairment (SLI) in each U.S. state from 2001 and 2007 was determined. A positive and statistically significant relationship was found: The higher the proportion of children receiving recommended vaccinations, the higher was the prevalence of AUT or SLI. A 1% increase in vaccination was associated with an additional 680 children having AUT or SLI. Neither parental behavior nor access to care affected the results, since vaccination proportions were not significantly related (statistically) to any other disability or to the number of pediatricians in a U.S. state. The results suggest that although mercury has been removed from many vaccines, other culprits may link vaccines to autism. Further study into the relationship between vaccines and autism is warranted.

Abnormal measles-mumps-rubella antibodies and CNS autoimmunity in children with autism.

Abstract

Autoimmunity to the central nervous system (CNS), especially to myelin basic protein (MBP), may play a causal role in autism, a neurodevelopmental disorder. Because many autistic children harbor elevated levels of measles antibodies, we conducted a serological study of measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) and MBP autoantibodies. Using serum samples of 125 autistic children and 92 control children, antibodies were assayed by ELISA or immunoblotting methods. ELISA analysis showed a significant increase in the level of MMR antibodies in autistic children. Immunoblotting analysis revealed the presence of an unusual MMR antibody in 75 of 125 (60%) autistic sera but not in control sera. This antibody specifically detected a protein of 73-75 kD of MMR. This protein band, as analyzed with monoclonal antibodies, was immunopositive for measles hemagglutinin (HA) protein but not for measles nucleoprotein and rubella or mumps viral proteins. Thus the MMR antibody in autistic sera detected measles HA protein, which is unique to the measles subunit of the vaccine. Furthermore, over 90% of MMR antibody-positive autistic sera were also positive for MBP autoantibodies, suggesting a strong association between MMR and CNS autoimmunity in autism. Stemming from this evidence, we suggest that an inappropriate antibody response to MMR, specifically the measles component thereof, might be related to pathogenesis of autism.

If you still have the macadamia nut package look on it for other ingredients.

Maybe it was not the nuts but flavor enhancing chemicals that were added.

It’s not worth it.

Tell her to stop rolling the dice (with her life!) and NOT eat at ANY restaurant that serves shellfish. No fast food type place that deep fried shrimp (shared fryers/oil).

I have a bad (not severe) shell fish allergy. I carry an EpiPen (which is a stop gap measure to keep your air ways somewhat—til the ambulance arrives—open but can give you irregular heartbeats). You still must go to an ER and in my case, CICU while they watch my heart “calm & recover” from the BLAST of epinephrine.

No meal is worth that. I rarely eat out, but when I do, I seriously stick to Wendy’s, McDs, etc because I KNOW there is no shrimp in the prep areas and NO across contamination.
