It was not shot down by a Navy missile. There would be at 300 to 400 sailors on the ship that fired the missile and everyone of them would know that a missile got fired and a few seconds later a jumbo jet crashed into the ocean. There is no way that secret could have been kept. Also, that missile would have to be accounted for, and there would have been several dozen bean counters that would have known that a missile was missing from the inventory. Also if a missile firing was scheduled there would have been all kinds of warnings for the aircraft in flight and probably exclusion zones declared also. It is a ridiculous conspiracy theory that doesn’t hold water.
