Standing up is one thing and can be done in a myriad of ways. Sending lots of Texans to an early grave is quite another. And for what? You can achieve freedom in many ways that don’t even involve politics. Or secession.

What? How bout...give me liberty or give me death.
I’m all for Texas. Don’t get me wrong. Lived there recently in fact.
But remember, Texas is one of the few states, which actually voted for Ted Cruz.
Maybe they need a cooling off phase, at the moment. Then talk with people next election about Cruz, if you are so inclined.
Everyone needs to be for Trump winning the presidency, this time.

Sounds nice, No reason to give the other side that choice. How about this choice instead: “I get my liberty, and you get to p!ss off if you don’t like it.”
Secession is one exceptionally bad choice amongst numerous other good choices. Why choose poorly?

Which means that the resolution was actually put forward. Twenty years ago it would have been unthinkable; it was only mentioned among the radical kook fringe.
That such a resolution was actually voted on is remarkable.
We forfeited a Republic to become a democracy and astute people know that no democracy can very long survive. But to witness it all in my lifetime is staggering.
