Police are looking for two suspects who stiffed a waitress on Tuesday evening.
That same waitress followed them out of the restaurant and jumped on their vehicle in an attempt to stop them from leaving.
However, she was thrown off of the car and injured.
Police say they are still searching for the suspects who were driving a gray vehicle.
The waitress was transported to the hospital and was treated and released.
“For those who may not know, at many restaurants, if someone skips out on the bill, they take it out of the pay of the waiter or waitress”
Yep. Some folks think the scam about switching high priced and low priced bills is real clever, but it’s like welfare, someone else has to pay.
If you called the cops in CA. the bill would have to be over 900.00 before they do anything, I work in a major grocery chain just to get my medical insurance, we stand there and watch people just walk out with whatever they want consistently!!!! 30 packs of beer are the top pick for theft but they will also grab snacks on the way out police do NOTHING and they KNOW IT!!!! So we just watch try not to forget who they are so we can follow them around on their next visit!!!
Simple. Don’t work at restaurants that charge waiters for customer skipping.
Kiss mah grits.
Most servers are self banking these days, so you get a printout of your sales at the end of your shift you hold all sales money through the night you give the restaurant what they are owed and whatever you have left is what your tips are for the evening,!!!! Sometimes your credit cards will be more and the restaurant will owe you!!! You must be VERY alert when giving change or you screw yourself!!!!
“You must be VERY alert when giving change or you screw yourself!!!!”
Just like any other private sector profession.
I’ve only done it twice. Once, there was a piece of broken glass in the food. It got into my mouth but didn’t cut me.
The other time, the fried chicken was still frozen inside.
I hope they have cameras
Sometimes, some people get really pissed off when they see someone stealing.
Sometimes they are overcome by the urge to stop the thief even if the theft wouldn’t have cost them anything.
As someone that was overcome to stop a thief I found myself in the Emergency Room, where nurses picked pieces of broken glass from my bleeding scalp, I can say that I would probably do it again.
The “thug” was arrested because I engaged him in a running street fight long enough for the cops to arrive. And get this, he wanted to charge me with assault since I busted a 2X4 across his knee during the fight.
I’ve worked as a cook several times, never got a tip, got compliments numerous times but never a tip. However I always tip.
CA 3rd world country status finally?
I have tipped the cook at Waffle House, and you should have seen his smile. Obviously made his day.
Of course, his smile would have been brighter if he didn't have meth teeth, but hopefully he won't relapse.
“I busted a 2X4 across his knee during the fight.”
Nice work.
It was a wild “Street fight”
I don’t think he expected anyone to come after him and when I did, he seemed to take offense to that. He could have ran away. The driver took off and we went at it. Lots of punches thrown with only a few connecting. Never got into a wrestling match. I grabbed a 2X4 that was about 6 feet long and broke it across his knee. He picked up a number of bottles and was throwing them at me from about 10 or 15 feet. I dodged most and eventually ducked behind a car when one shattered across the roof of a car and filled my head with broken glass. I was bleeding all over the place when the cops finally arrived.
How many people am I supposed to tip, doesn’t anybody get paid?
I usually give a 20% tip in cash with the bill which I pay by credit card and show no tip. When I say give my complements to the chef, do you suppose that the waiter/waitress gives the chef anything?
