If private background checks were in place during the founding of this nation, the Founding Fathers would have been executed by the British with that information.
You got that right. The only thing this bs does is prevent junior from getting his first gun on his 12th birthday.
To #11. You make to much sense for most Republicans and all Democrats.
Too much of America is still “Stuck on Stupid”.
My libturd coworker was going on about how there are no background checks at gun shows, or on the intarwebs. I asked the stoopid bastard to prove this by going to his local gun show and making a purchase without a NICS check.
He says he won’t have a gun in his house, if there is trouble he will call the cop across the street. I can only hope when it happens it is something serious.
Here in Washington State you have to have a background check to join the Gun Show Club, and then you can buy a gun at the show. (Non-members can go to the shows and buy stuff - but not guns).
Anyway - the “people” voted yes on a bill a couple of years ago to make ALL private “transfers” have to go through the check and the $25 fee.
On the plus side - I CAN let my wife use my weapon at a “registered” gun range with no $25 fee as long as I’m there with her. I CAN NOT give her my weapon for protection when I am out-of-town, and I CAN NOT let my adult son shoot my gun at the trap range even if I’m standing next to him. (Spelled out in the 19-page law). I think that my son could inherit a weapon from me without the check, but I think that is limited to immediate family.
Of course nobody follows the rules with that kind of stuff, although I imagine that people are following it on the private sales over the internet and stuff. I have not heard of this new law being used to arrest anybody.
