The British mom and dad of Michael Steven Sandford say they begged the U.S. to help bring their son home. The authorities refused to intervene until the Secret Service arrested him.
LONDON — The parents of a young British man who allegedly tried to shoot Donald Trump say they had contacted the U.S. authorities asking for help to bring their vulnerable boy home before he was arrested at a campaign rally in Las Vegas.

Therein lies a problem that I don't see an answer for.
With that being said, the parents should never have allowed him to come to the U.S. alone at his age and obvious mental problem with no job skills. I suspect the parents are well to do and were funding his stay here........
As for his motivation, I suspect he was influenced by whatever friends he may have had in NJ and the media attacks on Trump.
Based on this kid's mental condition and the futility of his actions, he doesn't belong in prison, he needs to be hospitalized and treated.........

It’s not exactly like they can walk up, knock on the door of every mentally unstable teenager and say, “ Can Johhny come out and play?” These shooters could be playing online tiddlywinks for all we know. It’s the INTERACTIVE ONLINE component that’s the key.

Are you serious?! Dang! I’ve never watched X Files so I don’t know. I’ve been mentioning it here for a few yrs, though, so maybe I predate their show. Everyone ignores me because it sounds too much like I’m blaming video games. (Video games/Violence is a theory that hasn’t been researched enough to make a connection, IMO).
Execute him, cremate him, and throw the bag of ashes over the wall at the British Embassy.

When asked why he tried to grab the gun on Saturday, Sandford allegedly told the Secret Service agent: “To shoot and kill Trump.” The agent also alleges that Sandford said he would try again to kill Trump if he were released from custody. He also had a ticket to Trump’s next rally in Phoenix.

Another story said the father sent him to the US to get his ‘stuff’ together. Seriously? If your kid had these kinds of troubles, would you send him across the pond? Or even across the country?
