In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
Endsville, sometimes lower case
Adjective
1. most wonderful or exciting: a rock band that was regarded as Endsville in the late fifties.
2. (of a location, circumstance, etc.) most isolated or undesirable.
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

“-ville” attached to every noun or situation was a beatnik colloquialism from the 1950’s.
My favorite is “dullsville”, but we still have a greeting card from 1960 with a bearded beatnik sending us “A note from Thanksville”.

work, especially the tic he displayed when the word was mentioned. He sounded like today's Bernie supporters.
