No doubt about it Trump needs Dr Ben Carson as his VP

Posted on 07/08/2016 3:28:05 PM PDT by MagillaX

With all the debate and polls on who should be Trumps VP, real life circumstances points out where Trump will need help the most and who could help him the most. And that is Dr Ben Carson. The Balkanization of America is its greatest threat.

Dr Carson is the only candidate who has shown the ability to lower the hostility between individuals and with different racial and cultural groups. The country is divided and to be any where successful Trump will need help uniting people.

Anybody can guide him with the inner workings of government but only a high profile person like a Vice President has the status to garner the attention needed for large amounts of people.

Mr Trump I have found your first instinct is usually the correct one. Dr Carson is your man.

Behind the scenes they know when the rule of law and trust in government institutions is lost, people will start taking the law into their own hands.

For them to keep control of the situation they will have to remove your ability to protect yourself so you will be forced to go to them for protection and be subject to them.

I really like Rand Paul but Trump will not pick a white guy from Kentucky.

Trump is smart he will pick some one who has these three qualifications/

First will keep him from being an assassination target by being solidly behind him on his agenda and who can not be seduced by Lobbyists,

Second he or she must bring in votes to help win states because if you don’t win it doesn’t matter.

Third he wants them to be what he is not and who can help him achieve his goals.

Match those and you narrowed down your list of potential VP picks.

Only one choice. He will want a person he trusts, gets along with, agrees with, and will help him gain additional votes in must win states. And that is Dr Ben Carson.

I am sure it didn’t take Trump long to figure it out. He will surround himself with others like Christie, Newt, Giuliani, and Palin to make up for any needed political insight.

Dr Carson will contrast him but opposites attract and provide the other with what they are lacking.

So you lose and election the world falls apart around you because you have a legal disagreement on the definition of what natural born is. And your okay with that.

My point is all about winning the election. Let the judges figure the rest if it isn’t legal so be it and if it is then we know that as well. It was obvious to me Cruz was not natural born but it is not so obvious with Rubio since he was born in America. The point still remains it is not a valid argument to eliminate him from contention.

Time is now for Trump to pick Rubio for VP
5/8/2016, 11:50:52 AM · 234 of 234
MagillaX to A Formerly Proud Canadian

I want to respond to a few here.

First choosing a black VP to swing the black vote. We have past experience on this, Mike Steele when he ran as senator and more recent with Bernie and Hillary. Even though our hearts would like to see the black vote swing it is entrenched and continues to vote Hillary. The risk to benefit is not a good one

On Rubio and his natural born citizenship, who cares it would be a distraction for the Democrats, they would insult some of their supporters and even if the lawsuit won by then the election would be over and Trump would be president.

On a women as VP. Do this if you want to make the election to be entirely about women, diminish Trumps issues, take a chance that an unknown will mess up, take Melania out of the spotlight and give Chris Matthews something else to think about.

Now Trump and Christie have a good look together but I don’t see how he helps expand his voting block.

On Rubio and amnesty. Trump could appoint Vicenti Fox as his VP and still win on that issue.

On Cruz, this would help heal wounds in the party but brings nothing else not sure this is enough, and Rubio would do the same.

Rand Paul’s name came up and was my first pick for President for me but he underperformed big time in the spotlight and trump already owns one of his major issues the wars in the middle east.

Kasich gives him help in Ohio and wont hurt Trump in the election, will help in governing, but offers nothing else.

Back to Rubio, first I am not saying I agree with all his policies, I don’t, but this is about winning and stopping Hillary. Having Rubio on board negates all the negative publicity the republican party put out on Trump, putting it out as only politics the real Trump is (right your narrative here). The Hispanics who do swing vote are inclined to rethink their vote. Rubio has performed well in the spotlight no surprises. This could be a huge shift for Trump with Hispanics. Then Trump can focus on whats left, like women voting issues; jobs, safety and and end to war and affordable healthcare. And how Hillary has not.

Jim Webb first off is way to pro choice. He has a reputation of having a big ego wanting things to go his way. He would be a wild card that could go so wrong. Their is only one choice and it is Rubio, not a democrat subversive or some unknown. And for all those who want a women. Trump needs to be in the spotlight, picking a women will automatically make it a shared spotlight like a marriage. And where would Melania go then.

If Trump picks him and they win I guess that makes him a winner.

To answer several comments

People need to stop thinking the country is majority republican it isn’t. You have to build a coalition that includes registered democrats. And the blacks aren’t moving ask Mike Steele.

The women vote you want to move is 10 percent of the voting block. The Hispanics are the larger block and they swing vote.

Fact is Hillary Clinton received more votes than trump in Florida. The primary is over and time to build a coalition.

Trump can have the wall and Rubio. And if you want to keep floating the gay picture your dealing with democrats now do you think that will hurt with them on voting?

If you want to be one of the losing purists that have to have your way or the highway best to join Cruz and the rest of the losers.

Picking a no name is not helpful also you will need to spend the rest of the year explaining who it is.

“Today, elections represent the illusion of choice; that is all.”

I would agree for the most part about this statement. Those of wealth and power manipulate political systems to their advantage. But a believer would say there are spiritual forces that also work towards their goals. When you throw that in the mix you see moments in time that are major turning points. It would seem though throughout history these turning points are far less frequent then those times we have the illusion of choice.

I on my part still believe there are enough good people in this country for its saving grace,

I am sincere and I believe it is a valid concern. From what I have read there is a history of disagreement if a Pope can retire even among past Popes themselves. And from what I understand Pope John Paul II stated he saw retirement as only viable if the Pope was incapacitated.

I believe it was Pope Boniface viii who became Pope after Pope Celestine abdicated. And there seems to be some discussion that Pope Boniface saw his legitimacy challenged while Pope Celestine lived.

Trump and Christie come off together on stage well. It would be a good pick to challenge the Dems in a couple of the NE states, and would be a good anti terror ticket.

Other choices would be a Hail Mary pass with Dr Carson in hopes of getting some black votes but the stage presence with the two didn’t seem to work.

I am still waiting for the Rubio endorsement and with Kasich in Ohio. both with delegates to throw his way.

Christie gets a high profile position for sure either way.

Your post reminds me of on old story I used to hear in church. There was a person on top of his roof due to a flood, and a boat came by and asked do you need help, and they said no I am waiting for God to get me. Then a helicopter passed by and said do you need help and they said no I am waiting for God to come get me. and so on and then the person died, and in heaven asked God I thought you would help me, and God said what are you talking about I sent a boat and a helicopter for you.

When the old Soviet Union collapsed standing on a tank was Boris Yeltsin. A communist who liked his vodka. Who would of thought he would be the man God used to do his will.

No one knows the future and how they will unfold. And with the passing of Justice Scalia it is more important then ever that everyone votes to ensure the best possible chance of a getting a good supreme court justice.
