The American Mirror phoned the Walmart Supercenter on N. Mall Drive to confirm the report.

I understand the notion as walmart is subject to looting, but folks may need guns to protect themselves from looters.

That photo is of the ammo cabinet? The Walmarts I have been in have circular displays. But Walmarts are prime looting targets, so maybe a good idea. If you need a gun tonight support your local gun store.
Must be scary to be a manager of a big Walmart and realize that you’re the conductor aboard the Riot Express. The gun and ammo counter back in Sporting Goods would be the third target after the wide screen TV’s and wireless headphones sections are cleared.

I posted a couple weeks ago that at age 66 I was about to buy my first firearm. Able to report that I just did so; Smith and Wesson M&P Shield 9. Had a training session and am committed to getting good with it. No CCW yet since I work at a university and will be unable to have it routinely on me until/unless the rules change.
Jim’s Firearms and Hebert’s here in Baton Rouge, are probably having record sales today.

I hear you, good on you for getting armed. I am sorry about the university thing, but good concealed carry means no one knows you are armed. No visible bulges, printing etc.
Its also a pain in the posterior to do especially if you like large frame weapons. I carry a Glock 26 and none are the wiser...
